We don't have a lot of this kind of crime in my area just south of Houston. And it's hardly a rich area, lower middle class I guess, it's not like you see people just walking around carrying all the time. But it's Texas. People know. Just the idea that someone in the vicinity is probably carrying is usually enough to get people to act right.

@libertariansasquatch we can't ever reduce it to 0, but there are a lot of things we can do to reduce it from where it is now. All of them involve eradicating leftism.

@libertariansasquatch you seem to have this fallacy that people on the right think there's an absolute solution to something that doesn't have an absolute solution. Crazy people exist, the best we can do is give everyone the right to protect themselves from crazy people. Tragedies will still happen. But just because we can't prevent all of them doesn't mean it's pointless to try.

@libertariansasquatch lmao, I see you see that you're losing ground, so you're trying to change the subject.

@NFawc and people who intend to use them for illegal purposes would still have the exact same access they have to them now. Whether we make them completely accessible, or completely inaccessible, it makes absolutely zero difference in that regard.

@libertariansasquatch well "good guys with a gun" really do stop crimes in the progress, there are statistics that track this, given that you can't ever get 100% accuracy on the statistics themselves. But we can see that defensive gun use is most certainly a thing. And even beyond that, there's preemptive prevention, meaning people are less likely to even try these kind of things in an area where they know people are more likely to be carrying. I think you're just overstating how much prevention 2A advocates really think will happen.

@libertariansasquatch your leftism is showing, trying to turn the argument towards me in particular, when I haven't made any claim about myself at all. Nice try, little fella.

@NFawc why not? If he wants to have uzis he's going to have them anyway, and it's still illegal for him to use them to just indiscriminately open fire for no reason, whether he legally owns them or not. If someone is really going to commit some crazy act, legality isn't going to stop them from getting the means to do it. They don't care about the law, I can't believe I even have to explain this to people. You have to actively be taught to be this stupid, even a feral person who's lived in the woods all their life with no human interaction would be able to arrive at this logic without even knowing what a gun is.

Tim's leftism is showing in this video, just because people having their 2A rights restored in full wouldn't reduce these incidents to zero doesn't mean it wouldn't reduce it at all. You can't ever reduce it to zero, tragedies happen, but we still have an obligation to reduce it as much as we can while maintaining liberty.
