Reality: exists. Commies: big mad.

@martiendejong8857 how would it work if it isn't enforced? Not sure if you're aware of this, but rich people don't usually just give their stuff to poor people because they're cool dudes like that. Sometimes they do. But if you want all of them to, or even most of them, it has to be enforced.

Whenever they talk about people being self interested, what they really mean is that smart and talented people should be forced to care about me.
23
Everyone has childhood trauma, obviously to varying degrees. But some of us use that as an excuse to be children forever, and some of us use it as a reason to be stronger adults.

@Gate-of-Dawnif having a mustache is gay, then Freddie Mercury was gay. Oh yea. He was super gay. Point taken.
19
That mustache too. There's no way a sane person looks at that and says "yep. That looks awesome."

@martiendejong8857 both are true. It's normal to be selfish to some extent, you can't really help anyone if you don't help yourself first. You're supposed to be the most important person in your own life, so you can help the other people you care about as much as possible. The tricky part is just finding the proper balance.

@about37ninjas well all it really takes to be a Christian is saying you're a Christian. I think we all know the difference between people who really try to adhere to it, and people who just say it. But technically, just saying it makes it true.

Arrogance. They could watch 20 people jump off a cliff and still think they can make it to the other side, because they're just super cool and special like that.
3
You see, the difference is, those were all bad, because it didn't work. But it will be good when I do it, because I'm super smart. Just trust me bro.

It's manipulating vague concepts, a key component of their mind control. Look at the gender thing, because there are rare exceptions where someone fits more of the female stereotypes, but is biologically male, they pretend that means gender stereotypes are completely bogus, when everyone knows that they're accurate almost all the time

@makhnothecossack4948 Crocs are popular too, and they're also very stupid.
2
@makhnothecossack4948 it's a goofy mustache, you can still like the bad evil mustache man and admit it's a stupid mustache. It's fine. You won't get kicked out of the cool kids groyper club, they're pretty desperate to keep members.

@raybanseyes I think you're misinterpreting my comments, or maybe I'm misinterpreting yours. I'm very much a free market guy, not to it's most extreme, I think there should be extremely low taxes and some government regulations just for the sake of safety, but I favor about as close to laissez faire as you can get on a functioning large scale. I was just being sarcastic about what so shall ists think their ideology means, and what it really means. You're correct, capitalism does reward the greedy, but at least they have to work and produce something of value to satiate their greed. You can't eliminate greed and self interest, it's part of the human condition.

Atheism is not a religion, but people often fill the void with a pseudo religion, like socialism, climate activism, veganism, take your pick of other woo-woo. Some people are just straight atheist though, and don't have a replacement religion.
2
They're very sneaky about conflating the standard with the exception. There could be 14/15 people in their group with blue eyes, and they would say "not all" have blue eyes, even though pretty much all of them do. And they'll take the one person with brown eyes and say "look! We can have brown eyes too!"

@makhnothecossack4948 I love how I can't tell if this is genuine smug, or poking fun at internet smug. You really can't parody the pretentious internet douche any more than they parody themselves.
1
@makhnothecossack4948 holy crap, you're being serious. That's hilarious. I don't think I've ever seen anyone defend the tiny mustache man's tiny mustache.

@lukenodag5784 exactly, I didn't ask for someone to take my money so they can give some of it back to me. But I'll be damned if I don't accept whatever they're willing to give me, it's my money.
1
We didn't ask to pay taxes, they make us. Leftists asked for taxes. It's not hypocritical for us to ask for some of our own money back, it's hypocritical for them to complain about how much they have to pay.

@tancreddehauteville764 true, but most of us try to balance criticizing things we don't like with building upon things we do like.

It's pretty normal to be selfish and short-sighted as a teenager. There are supposed to be adults in your life that guide you, and teach you that jealousy and anger don't usually really help anything. But if you lack that positive influence, it's pretty clear to see how you can fall into the trap. It's good you grew out of it.
