Kyle, I'm a right wing, nearly free speech absolutist, I only agree with very minimal limitations on free speech, and I think it's wrong for the person to get banned for this. That being said, I'm still going to point and laugh, because you guys created this, you cheered it on, we tried to warn you. And here you are, crying about it when your team gets censored, just like we said would happen all these years.

Not much can be done now, the moderate left has done a piss poor job of keeping the looney far left at bay, and on the fringes, where all extremists belong. There's a reason you didn't see hundreds of far right riots taking to the street, because moderates on the right don't have a problem saying "I'm not with them, those dudes are crazy", at least enough of the moderate right that the far right hasn't become a widespread problem. But the moderate left stood idly by and enabled the far left to grow, because you wanted to win. Someone who's going too far to the right will listen to me before he listens to you, because he doesn't see me as an adversary, likewise someone going too far to the left will with all of you, but you didn't try to talk them down. The damage is done, and it's enough damage that it's going to take decades to repair, if we can ever repair it at all. Congratulations. You did this.

"No such thing as a free lunch" is an economic principle, it means everything costs something, even if you don't have to pay for it, even if it doesn't even cost money, it still costs something to someone, whether it's time, effort, money or any number of other things. And I highly doubt that she's against providing food for students in public schools, if that's what you're getting at, pretty much every single person on every side of politics agrees that a base level education and amenities for kids while they're at school is not only a necessary, but a good way for the state to spend tax money.

@jca9417 I'm a Yankees fan, and I live in Houston. And I know that sounds completely random, and unrelated, and it is a pretty silly comparison, but the Yankees have a sort of..... Toxic fan base. I was trying to find a delicate way of putting it, but there really isn't one. Not only because they're just hugely popular, so there's a lot of people who call themselves Yankees fans, but don't really care about the Yankees, or baseball that much, they're just sort of casual fans, but there's also just a ton of extremely obnoxious and elitist fans that like to act like every other team sucks, and you suck if you like anyone but the Yankees. So especially living outside of NY, I find myself being put on the defensive a lot, and I'm just kinda like hey man I like the Yankees. That doesn't mean I'm anything like anyone else who likes the Yankees, other than us both liking the Yankees. So I see it sorta like that. There's a big element of the left that's just awful these days. You can call that out and still be on the left, and all of the people who try to say otherwise are exactly like the toxic Yankee fans I'm referring too, your personal view on something is completely separate from the behavior of other people who share that view with you.

@lukemurray4950 it would make more sense to just have more or a plurality of candidates running for office, instead of just a democrat, a republican, and maybe a 3rd party, you have 7 or 8 different people running for the same office, maybe 3 Republicans, maybe 5 democrats, maybe 2 social democrats, whatever, but it takes away the power of the party, nobody would win just based on having a (D) or (R) next to their name because they would have to set themselves apart from the others in their party. And maybe one of the major parties doesn't win at all.

@matthewfusaro2590 good for him, I don't really care if he has a degree or not, I have a problem with people who ask for free handouts. I work at a kennel doing low skilled labor, I don't make shit but I get by and I don't want a dime from anyone that has more than me, nor do I think I owe a dime to anyone who has less than me. I have a high school education with some college, didn't really pan out because I was more interested in partying and chasing women, so there's that. And you can be a smug elitist and look down on me if you want, but I really don't give a shit, I do fine in my life, and if you have a degree and still think you're owed something, I think the problem is you, little fella.

@mikem4481 I don't know, maybe Kyle has been a lying hack for so long that he forgot how to do actual journalism, you could be right. But I don't think he's stupid, I think he's a liar, and he knows his viewers are stupid. I don't think he genuinely thinks Assange is a fair comparison, this isn't a situation of someone leaking information that otherwise likely wouldn't have gone public, this court decision was always going to go public. It just had to go through the necessary legal process first, without public interference. Which is why this leak is so egregious. I know "dangerous precedent" is a worn out cliche, but that really does apply here, if the left doesn't stand on principle and say that this leak was morally wrong, and dangerous, then they're sending a message that there's a demand for people to leak supreme court decisions that aren't finalized yet. And SCOTUS will eventually just be held hostage by whatever extremist group has the most effective methods of coercion. I don't think leftists have even thought that far into it either, since they have a near monopoly on political violence these days, I don't think they realize that other political factions can use violence too. They just aren't right now, it's only the left.

@jacobgarcia4188 I'm not an absolutionist about anything pertaining to this, goddamnit how hard is it for you to understand this? I'm not saying there should be no federal laws at all, I've been as clear as humanly possible about that, I specifically stated in my last post that I think weed legalization should be state level because it's so hotly contested. Some things are not, murder bad, pretty much everyone agrees with that, so murder is illegal on a federal level. Moving on, not a contested issue. Weed, however, is a very contested issue. Regardless of what you think about it, and goddamn I even agree with you that it should be legal, I just disagree about federal vs state. It's really hard to tell if you're being dishonest on purpose and intentionally misrepresenting my statements, or if you're just dumb. But at least one of those things is definitely true.

@mischevious no, I'm not counting the protests, there were something like 4,000 total demonstrations, over 500 of which involved some level of violence, billions of dollars in property damage, and over 30 people dead at the hands of BLM, countless more lives forever changed in a negative way due to all of the businesses that were damaged or completely destroyed. That's your team, that's who you're blindly allegiant to. And they're mostly comprised of kid diddlers, wife beaters, murderers, and every other kind of degenerate bottom feeder one could possibly imagine. That's who you are, that's who you support. And you can't ever run away from that either, you really are that person and you always will be, and never anything more than that.

@brothersandsistersofvalhalla true, so you could say something like "I believe in a lot of libertarian ideals", or "I agree with some social democratic policies", but that's not what Kyle does, he says "I am a social democrat", and then turns around and calls himself a libertarian too. I already explained how those things are directly contradictory, everyone believes in some libertarian ideals, since it's a pretty broad range of liberties, but to call yourself a libertarian implies that you lean towards liberty on most things. To call yourself a social democrat implies that you're pretty far on the other end of the spectrum on taxes, which is a very key thing about libertarianism. It's not like saying "I like scary movies, but nothing with demons", it's more like saying "I like scary movies, but nothing with anything scary in it".

@HKWhang1 the majority of conservatives are supportive of all the things you just listed to some degree though, as far as LGBT issues and transitioning, most conservatives just want kids to be left alone and not indoctrinated in any sexual way. I don't know of a single person I've met in my entire life that's against interracial marriage, at least in the legal sense. Maybe they're against their family marrying outside the race, but that's not exclusive to conservatives either. Same with contraception, most conservatives are against abortion and want that banned, but not birth control, and certainly not condoms, that's just a fringe view that a very small faction of conservatives go so far on. The majority of conservatives just don't think tax payers should be responsible for other people's bad decisions, and that abortion should be illegal, and people should take responsibility for their choices. Same with social security, most conservatives don't want it to be completely done away with. They just want less social spending in general. I think a lot of your views of conservative ideology are skewed by what leftists say conservatives believe. Obviously they're not going to be honest about that, because they don't want people to actually listen to conservatives for themselves.

@Shark-hn4mv a lot of it is just a wide range of different subjects he appeals to, if you're into comedy, he's had several guests on that you like, if you're into MMA, same, politics, same, random crazy stuff like archaeology or drugs, he's got that covered too. So it just creates a lot of overlap with his viewers, someone might watch a clip because their favorite martial artist was on, and then get a recommendation for someone talking about dinosaurs and shit and they're like oh damn, dinosaurs are cool too.

@c.j.giordano2129 yea I'm with you, I'm pretty libertarian too, although I can't really say I'm full libertarian, I just lean that way on a lot of issues. So I'm generally going to side towards transparency too, I'm just also realistic and understand the need for some things to happen in the shadows. Like we've discussed with court rulings, and military actions too depending on the situation. We definitely don't want to announce what our military is up to for the whole world, that would definitely be valuable information for any potential adversaries. I'm still just leery of going too far on that, for obvious reasons. I just wish more people could be reasonable about these kind of things, and take their political goggles off for a second and think about the implications if the shoe was on the other foot. Because you bet your ass if this was reversed, and it was leaked that the SC was making a ruling that conservatives wouldn't be too happy about, and a bunch of far right nutters were making veiled threats, the entire left side of politics' hair would be on fire warning of the apocalypse. Everyone knows it. They're completely incapable of understanding the other side of things, they don't want to, they don't care about ethics or morality, all they care about is feeling like they're right, and righteous. It's really a scary time, this kind of extremism can't last long without the other side going just as extreme. And the lunatics actually think it's the right that's gone extreme. They don't even know what far right extremism looks like. Ironically, it looks a lot like far left extremism. A lot closer to that than what most of the right in the US looks like right now.
1
-
@c.j.giordano2129 and what's completely lost on the left, is that the entire reason Roe is being overturned is because of their extremism, 100%. It was an unconstitutional ruling in the first place, everyone on either side of the issue that has any understanding of the process agrees on that, even most prominent liberals used to agree on that, but we just kinda let it slide, because "safe, legal, and rare" was the understood compromise. Nobody used to like abortion, the left and right just disagreed on whether or not there was some exceptional cases where it would be permissable, and the legality around that, so conservatives just allowed liberals to have their way as long as it was understood that abortion is never supposed to be common and taken lightly. But the left in recent years has blasted right past "pro choice" and become full blown pro abortion, there are leftists celebrating abortion and treating it as though it's some kind of right of passage for all women, that there are no moral implications whatsoever. That's just disgusting. To say they broke the compromise is an understatement, they've completely pissed all over it. It would be equivalent to the right calling for the execution of women who have abortions, that's completely nuts, no sane person would ever back that, and nearly all conservatives would say no, stop it, that's insane. But the left doesn't keep their crazies in check the same way the right does. They cheer on the crazies, because they can use them for political power. Which of course the right could too, anyone could, but conservatives understand that social cohesion is important, and want to maintain that. That's why Roe existed in the first place, and why it's being overturned now, because the left has said loud and clear, ya know what, fuck your social cohesion, we want it our way and we'll do anything to get it, even if it means burning the whole country down.
1
-
@c.j.giordano2129 I completely agree, but I've honestly gone a lot further towards the pro life side due to the left's actions and rhetoric. On principle I agree with everything you said about it, it is complicated. On a personal level I think it's disgusting, but I also understand the nuance to it, I understand how sometimes a woman's life is such a wreck that bringing a child into it would just be irresponsible. Which of course you could argue she shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place, which is obviously true. But she is. That doesn't really matter anymore. Now the question is what's the best thing moving forward. But as far as the dishonest thing the left does by throwing out the extremely rare, extreme circumstances like r a p e and incest, well there could be separate laws for that, the same way there are separate laws for killing in self defense. It's a complete nonsense argument. Saying all abortion should be legal because of specific circumstances is as nonsensical as saying all murder should be legal because it could be in self defense. No, if it's self defense, we have trials for that to determine if it's legitimate self defense. The same could be applied for abortion, if someone feels they have a legitimate reason that's outside of just convenience or birth control, then they can take that to court to determine if their claim is legitimate. I know that sounds kind of ridiculous and it is kind of ridiculous, but the left is ridiculous, we have to think about these kind of things when we write laws. Look at how insane they go with all of the trans rights issues and shit like that, it starts by saying someone should be able to use the women's restroom if they identify as a woman, alright, sure, if a female passing man goes in the women's room, I'm sure nobody will even notice. As long as they're just going to the bathroom, who cares anyway? That's reasonable. But these are not reasonable people. Next thing you know, they're saying anyone should be able to use any public restroom. So now women don't have a separate restroom where they don't have to worry about creepo pervs just walking on in, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Sucks it has to be that way, but these people are not fit for civil society. We have to start thinking about that when we write legislation. And I do expect some red states to go a little over the top with abortion restrictions because of that. I don't really like it on principle, but we have to draw a line somewhere and show the left that we're not going to be ruled by a small group of psychopaths. Even if it means turning the wheel a little too far in the other direction. They'll learn eventually. And we can go back to living in some semblance of a sane society.
1
-
@c.j.giordano2129 that's the thing with the left though, they take advantage of the nuance of situations and pretend like the exception should dictate the rule. I don't think anyone was trying to claim that people were getting assaulted in bathrooms en masse or anything like that, but that was the claim they seemed to be making. All people are saying is that based on societal norms, if some creepy dude is hanging out by the women's restroom all day, and as soon as a teenage girl walks in, he walks in behind her, someone is definitely going to say "hey weirdo, what are you doing?" And just because everyone knows that, it's not very common for creepy weirdos to do such things in crowded locations. They know someone will say something. If the leftist activists had their way, the creepy weirdo could just say he identifies as a woman and start screaming bigot at you, and all of a sudden you're the bad guy. This is seriously the world they want. It's complete madness.
1
-
@c.j.giordano2129 because the cultural swing is just a means to shift the economic platform. There's an alarming amount of people that are all in with socialism, it's really mind blowing. The mainstream economic views in the US used to be "I think we should have lower taxes and a more free market", or "I think we should have more social spending and a more regulated market". Those are both reasonable positions. There's merit to ideas on both sides, and the best answers are usually some combination of both. Now a large portion of the left has broken off from that and gone full socialist. And the right has not done the same, there aren't very many people who want no taxes and no regulation. Because that's nonsense, there are obvious reasons why we need some taxation and some regulation. And I'm probably about as libertarian as you, most of the time I'm gonna lean towards less taxes and less regulations, but that's a foreign language to leftists, they're so extreme in their views that they can't even comprehend a moderate view, no matter how many times you tell them your position on this, their mutated brain automatically changes your words to "I want unregulated capitalism, period", and that's what they're always going to think, no matter how many times you explicitly tell them what you actually think. That's why they think the right is extreme, because they refuse to listen to what anyone on the right says, they just insert a ridiculous position and insist that's your position.

@extremegrieferbible the US has only gone in a consistent leftward direction for several decades now, more social programs, higher spending, nothing has rolled back or been reduced whatsoever. We have more business regulations than practically every other developed nation, we have higher than average corporate tax rates, we have some of the most progressive taxation in the world. This is a leftist country, plain and simple. And if you don't think it's "real leftism" because it's not the kind of leftism you wanted, yea no shit, that's what regular people have been trying to tell you. It's never the kind of leftism you want it to be, because that version of leftism that the elites sold you doesn't exist, it's a fantasy they sell to stupid people so you'll hand them over more power.

@uqs57bju there doesn't have to be a clearly defined line, life isn't always that simple. Sometimes there are self defense/murder trials that aren't that clearly defined, that's why we have trials for them, and they're determined on a case by case basis, and sometimes killing someone in self defense is so clearly defined it doesn't even have to go to trial. Abortion in exceptional circumstances could be viewed the same, in the case of a convicted assault, there wouldn't have to be any deliberation at all, clearly the woman is the victim of assault, the assailant has already been found guilty, case closed. As far as a woman wanting an abortion and just making a claim of assault, that might be more complicated.

@garveydent but, to be fair, I don't think you're smart enough to realize that you're being dishonest. I don't think you're smart enough to even have your own opinions, you're just repeating what's been implanted in your head. I'm trying to help you here bud, you probably haven't ever realized how dishonest your argument is. It would be like me saying I think murder should be legal, and you say no, that's crazy, and I say well what about self defense? That's a completely different thing. You can think self defense should be legal but not all murder, in fact that's the most reasonable position. I'm being dishonest by trying to use one exception to make my rule seem more reasonable. Do you understand yet? I can use smaller words if it helps, I work with dogs so I know how to make things make sense to someone with about your intellect. Although they're usually smarter than you, but I'll do what I can.

@alansmithee920 I am a reasonable person, I wouldn't say just a little bit right, I'm more libertarian than conservative, but somewhere around those crossroads. So I would say I'm more than just slightly right but definitely not extreme. But I use that example because it's indicative of where the left is, just imagine if Biden came out and said they were going to start arresting people who voted for Trump. There would be pretty damn widespread support from the left and you and I both know it. Maybe not you, maybe not Kyle, but there would be enough people to where that could actually happen, and their foot soldiers from BLM and antifa would be out on the streets, mobilized and ready to round people up. I know that sounds extreme and I'm not saying it's going to happen, but you can't say the same about the right, if Trump were to come out and say they were arresting Clinton voters, the overwhelming majority of conservative would say hold on, no no no that's a big NO. Not happening. I know people in these left wing echo Chambers won't ever admit it out loud, but you know what I'm saying is true.

@HalcyonSunset what does that even mean, "advocate" for the poor? I know what the word means, but what does that mean in reality? What are you doing? Just talking about it on the internet? You've already admitted you don't help anyone, and you just want the government to make rich people give the government a lot of money, presumably so you can have it. What does that do for the poor? What's the tangible value in that? And you know you do more harm than good, right? Look at that douche bag loser from the antiwork thing that made a fool of the entire movement on live TV, that's how the overwhelming majority of people view you, for good reason. They see you as whiny and entitled, pretending to care about the "big picture", when really all you want is to sit on your ass and play Xbox all day while you get government checks rolling in just because you exist. If you want to be taken seriously as actually caring about the poor, you would get off your ass and start caring about the poor. Start a movement, gather up all your leftist friends and start volunteering your time to help the homeless, and other people in need. Show the world you actually do care, and you're not just whining on the internet. If you actually do care. Which you and I both know you don't.

@EconomicJustice500 and THAT attitude is the exact reason that so many black and Hispanic people don't succeed. Because they're told all their lives, by racist leftists like you, that they can't succeed. You don't think young, impressionable people will take any available excuse? The people who don't listen to racist leftists like you are the ones who succeed, the people who don't make excuses and just work harder, and do better. You're a slave to your ideology. ALL leftists preach is how you can't, you can't, nobody can, you can never succeed. It's such a negative outlook. And it's a self fulfilling prophecy, YOU can't succeed, because you're always looking for excuses. People who work hard and don't look for excuses can and do succeed.

@valeriemacphail9180 well that's why there's a shitload of countries in the world, not everyone agrees on the best ways to live and which governments and policies are best. But personally, if I hated the US as much as the progressive left does, I wouldn't live here anymore. Damn man, critique is one thing, wanting to make things better is another thing, but at a certain point if you're obsessively critical and can't go 5 minutes without talking about how terrible your own country is, I think it's time to go. I wouldn't still live in a house that I hated with a burning passion. If the A/C is broke, I'll fix it, if the guy down the street has an Uber mansion, I'll concede that his house is better than mine, but ultimately I still like my house and am glad I live there.

@chickensalad7199 right, and if you're ripping on someone that everyone knows, it's more likely to get more laughs. Personally, I think some of the best jokes are the ones that not everyone gets, if it flies over about 30% of people's heads, then it can often be extra funny for the 70% who do get it. But that's just my opinion. Also, we aren't talking about whether it's funny or not, usually, when people talk about the concept of punching up. They're talking about it being immoral, or unethical, or at the very least offensive. You can be offended if you want, but I don't care, offense doesn't mean anything to me most of the time. Usually the people saying they're offended are the ones who want to have power over you.

@Ar1AnX1x Jesus Christ this is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Which is saying a lot, I'm a regular watching this channel. Shapiro doesn't claim to be a libertarian, he's a conservative. And libertarians are inherently right wing, if you believe in higher taxes and equality of outcome over equality of opportunity, you're not a libertarian, period. There's no debate on this matter. And as far as letting people with bad ideas voice their bad ideas? Yes, that's libertarian buddy. Doesn't matter whether you like it or not, liberty means liberty for everyone, not just for people who have ideas you agree with. Ideas are just ideas, actions are punishable by law, not ideas.

@Ar1AnX1x wtf are you talking about? Leftists are completely race obsessed, notice how you immediately jump to that when nobody else is talking about race? You're just the mirror image of fascists and Nazis in that regard, you just swapped in groups and out groups with the same ideology. Same with hierarchy, leftists just have a different list of how they think the artificial authoritarian hierarchy should work. The fact that you even think this is more similar to modern conservatives shows that you're too far gone in your extremist bubble to even recognize what moderation looks like, because that's what conservatives and liberals are, they're moderates. And they have more in common with each other than either of them have in common with communists and fascists, communists and fascists on the other hand, are extremely similar to each other. Same goals, different talking points and vectors of achieving it. Your authoritarianism is no better or worse than fascist authoritarianism. It's the same shit in a different package, and just like fascist supporters, you're too stupid and arrogant to realize you're advocating for your own enslavement.

@_robinmc__-thesteve5380 Personally I don't doubt that human interaction has had a negative effect on the environment, I'm sure it has. But I'm highly skeptical that it's as severe as the left wants to say, mostly because their motivations are very clearly more about political power than the environment. I don't trust them as far as I can throw a whale. I definitely think it's a good idea to be environmentally conscious, try to reduce consumption, properly dispose of waste, all of that. Nothing bad can come from it, not only for environmental reasons but also for your own wallet and personal health. But I don't need or want the government to force me to. Most conservatives are actually far more environmentally conscious than most liberals. I sure as hell don't think socialism is going to fix anything, if anything socialism would just make everything worse, because of the inherent inefficient nature of government oversight, we would be increasing waste and resource consumption per capita. Sure, a lot of people would be starving to death and being put into death camps. So I guess socialism would reduce net emissions that way, sort of. But you can't possibly be so daft that you believe what the left is selling as far as climate change. They're not even trying to put of the appearance of honesty anymore.

@SlixHaides I guess I could have been more clear in my wording, considering leftists are mentally retarded, and I know this. So I should have known better. I was making 2 different statements, that Charlie nor Kyle has to apologize for not doing hard labor, they're working too. And my statement about them not having to pay for other people's poor decisions was directed at social security in general. You should be able to plan for your own retirement, whether you're a left wing grifter like Kyle, or a manual laborer. It doesn't matter. No matter what your job, or how much you earn, you can plan for your own retirement without the governments involvement. Social security isn't free money for retirement, it's some of the money you paid in throughout your entire career being paid back to you. It's bullshit. You should be able to keep all of it, by not paying it to the government in the first place.

@lukemurray4950 that's the thing though, they don't want to put anything in. Ever. Under any circumstances. And people like that have always existed, some people just aren't motivated. And I don't even care, that's not my problem, but in a functioning society, those people have nothing. And they have to get off their ass and at least get some kind of blowoff job if they want anything at all. Which is basically what most progressives do, but then they complain about how they're poor, and the government should take care of them. It's ridiculous. If you got a degree at a university, and you're still complaining about minimum wage, you're an idiot. I'm not remotely sorry about that. It blows my mind this is even a controversial position to hold. And then they smugly look down at everyone, as though a blue haired college grad with tens of thousands in student debt, working at Starbucks is the Pinnacle of humanity, the bastion of knowledge we should all aspire to be. It's hilarious.

@stefanhoover9201 you have the freedom to eat 30 cheeseburgers for lunch if you want. That means you also have the responsibility to pay for the medical care youll inevitably need due to the 30 cheeseburgers you eat for lunch. That's how it works. Freedom and responsibility are inseparable, you cannot have one without the other. The left does not want freedom, the left wants freedom from responsibility. That's not freedom, that's a nanny state, and it never ends well. Regular people aren't trying to fight against you, we're trying to tell you that the things you think you want are bad for all of us. History is stuffed to the brim of examples of specific reasons why these ideas are bad, progressives aren't progressive at all, none of your ideas are new, every single one of them are refried old ideas that led to unspeakable death and suffering. Please, for gods sake, sit in the corner and let the adults do the adult stuff.

@ramonserna8089 he didn't get arrested for protesting, you goddamn liar, he got arrested at a protest for "crowding, obstructing or incommoding", those were the charges. You can look this up, it's easy to find. You're knowingly lying about this, and you're doubling down on your lie. Maybe he shouldn't have been arrested, maybe you think they're bogus charges, ok, cool, that's your opinion. But to say that he got arrested just for protesting is a bald faced lie, and you know it's a lie, and you keep repeating it.

@belstar1128 for most of history rights came with responsibility, men did have more rights but they also lived an extremely dangerous and unforgiving life, they were the front lines of battle, they were the primary if not exclusive workforce, they worked thankless and dangerous jobs. We look back at it like women were just barefoot and pregnant and had no agency, and it's true to some extent that they weren't treated as equals, but they also had a very safe life in comparison to men, they were free from most of the dangers and responsibilities that men had to endure. I'm not making a commentary on whether that was better or worse, it was just different, but with modern feminism coming in, women decided they wanted to have all of the rights and freedoms of men without taking on any of the responsibilities and dangers that came along with that. That's where the imbalance comes from, we're still in that mindset except it's become hyper polarized, women don't want to have any responsibility for their actions at all, under any circumstances, and they also want to point to any and all inequalities and call it sexism.

It's funny how socialists hate police, and it's one of a small handful of socialist institutions that even normal people agree is necessary. Maybe you don't like the current state of policing, that's fine, I don't either, we can discuss policies that can make it better. But the concept of abolishing police all together is laughably stupid, you're accidentally advocating for only rich people to be entitled to security, because that's where it would end up, you have to pay for security out of pocket, I don't like that, I don't like socialism, but I also don't like basic inequalities like education and security, every American should be entitled to basic necessities like that, it's a small price to pay. So get your ideological goggles off and start looking at real solutions.

@LittleIguana BUT, just to play devil's advocate, if someone told me Cuties was awful, and offensive, and absolute trash, but there was one good performance, or the cinematography was done well, or any other kind of positive remark not dealing with the subject matter, I wouldn't accuse them of defending the movie. Because that would be dishonest. They very clearly said that they did not like the movie, they just added in an objective point about something that wasn't awful about it. Because I'm not a dishonest piece of shit like you, and I actually listen to what people are saying, instead of just forming my own interpretation and throwing around accusations based on my interpretation.

@courtenaymariejones it doesn't matter whether it directly effects me or not, it's wrong to penalize people for being successful and reward people for not being successful. I don't want or deserve anything from people who have more than me, and neither do you, and I also don't owe anyone anything because they have less than me, and neither do you. And I'm not even trying to argue to convince you otherwise, I understand there are different views on that, but you don't get to say that you want to make people spend their money a certain way because of liberty. That's complete nonsense, that's the opposite of liberty. Liberty is saying you can earn any amount of money you want, and you can spend that money on what you want, usually within certain limitations, reasonable people accept that there are limitations on everything. You're saying you want more limitations and more government intervention, that's fine of you believe that, but you don't get to believe that and then say you value liberty more than most people, because you don't, you value it less, you value equality more than liberty. I'm only asking you to be honest about where you stand.

1. Yes, poverty does often drive people to get themselves out of poverty by their own merits.
2. Paternity leave is stupid, at least the idea of the government forcing employers to pay for it. If they want to pay for it, fine, up to them, if it's such a great idea everyone would do it.
3. What? People can't hang out with politicians you don't like?
4. Giving out "free" checks to everyone is absolutely a major contributor to inflation, because that money wasn't generated, it was just poofed into existence through magic government power (hint, it's not magic, it's just something we'll have to owe later, in other words, inflation)
5. The stimulus checks definitely predated a rise in unemployment. So there's no reason to believe UBI wouldn't have the same effect, except even greater and longer sustained.

@Ryan88881 sure, I guess so, but the trend could just as easily reverse next year. I live in Houston and we had a pretty mild summer by our standards, it was only triple digits a few times here and there. And I didn't hear anyone saying "hey look at that, we solved climate change, this summer wasn't that bad!" Because that would be stupid, the climate changes here and there all the time, it's not a sign of the apocalypse every time. And you don't hear about the normal stuff because that's not news, "Houston has mild summer" isn't going to get any clicks, but "holy crap it's never been this hot (in the last 50 years), we're all gonna diiiiieeee!!!!!!" Gets clicks.

@nickelpickel3924 to put it as simply as possible, left tends to favor more government intervention, and right tends to favor less. So someone barely right of center would be likely to say "I think taxes should be lower, and there should be less regulations on business, but some taxes and regulations are fine", and someone barely left of center would say the same except want more regulations and higher taxes. So someone further right would want little to no taxes or regulations, someone further to the left would want very high taxes and a heavily regulated economy. And this is just the economic scale, which is the main flaw in the left/right spectrum, but social issues do tend to go hand in hand with economic views, which is why right leaning people tend to have a "you do you, just don't expect me to pay for you to do it" attitude towards social issues, and left leaning people tend to think more along the lines of "let me do what I want and pay for it if I don't feel like paying for it".

@patchwurk6652 what does my political view have to do with the fact that Kyle is deliberately misrepresenting this story? And the real story is pretty damn bad, the fact that there was any legal action taken against the guy in the first place is fucked up, there's no need to lie about it. I mean sure, it is illegal for him to have weed, especially in a hospital where he's in plain view of everyone, it's not like there's no fault whatsoever. But any decent police officer would have been like nah I don't care about that, just try to keep it a little on the down low, can ya? Either way though, the guy wasn't arrested, he wasn't even convicted, the charges were dropped. Kyle could have been honest about that. This is the problem with you lefties, you care about the narrative more than you care about the facts. That's why you're so easily manipulated. You believe whatever supports your preconceived notion, and you never even bother to check and see if the information you see is correct. And that's why your preconceived notions are so distorted. It's a perpetual cycle.

@HKWhang1 hey I'm not trying to convert your or get into the weeds of the same old politician debate we've all had a hundred times. I just think you're a little mistaken on your views of what Republicans want, the media is extremely biased in favor of Democrats and left wing views, I think everyone can see that if they're being honest about it. It's really not debatable at this point, they used to be pretty sneaky about it before the country was so radicalized, but now we have networks like CNN and MSNBC that are just right in your face with the fact that they're democrat propaganda networks. Sure you got Fox on the right, but that's pretty much it, every other powerful media entity is in bed with democrats. Hell you can even make the argument Fox is on their team too, since they've become the anti Trump, but we're still republican, wink wink, we swear guys were definitely Republicans, wink.

@tallking7777 of course, we're in the escalating phase of a cold civil war. People are crazy these days. I understand the vaccine hesitancy, and the response to the hesitancy, my personal position is that it's probably fine and you should get vaccinated, but I'm not going to support any kind of legislation around what people should do, all of this push towards coercing people to get the vaccine isn't doing anything positive whatsoever, it's only driving us further apart. And that's the point, that's the explicit purpose of it. If someone is paranoid about government overreach, screaming at them and telling them they have to do it because the government says so only proves their point. And if someone thinks the virus is all the fault of people refusing to listen to the experts, then screaming at them to listen to the experts also isn't productive. People need to just remember that personal freedom and responsibility is something that a lot of people value, and no matter what your personal opinion of that is, those people are still going to have their opinion too.

@dustinsindledecker154 it's standard business, there is no crime here at all. It's like if you're trying to sell a car for $10k, and I say I'll give you $7k. You would probably say nah, I can get more. Perfectly reasonable, right? And neither of us did anything wrong. We'll either meet somewhere in the middle, or we just won't come to a deal. Simple as. Nobody is harmed, and nobody did anything wrong, I have the right to ask for a lower price, and you have the right to ask for a higher price. And anyone who doesn't try to negotiate this way, whether as a buyer or a seller, just isn't doing it right.

It's really so damn dishonest, it would be like if I said that all murder should be legal, and you (obviously) would say no, that's crazy, and then I retort with "oh yea, well what about self defense?" Such a dishonest argument, and that's exactly what leftists do with abortion, they want ALL abortion to be legal, for any reason at all, and when people push back they just throw out the rare, exceptional cases.

@scifirealism5943 you're probably just not listening to those people who you say think there are "no systemic problems", I think there are plenty of systemic problems in education, particularly for this discussion, higher education. I think too many teenagers have this idea put in their head that all they have to do is go to college and 4 years later, whammo, magic money in their pocket, it's that simple. So they get degrees in nonsense, and don't actually learn any real world skills, because the college doesn't care, they get paid either way. It's up to YOU to actually learn and take courses that will help your career. That's the systemic problem. And it won't be solved by just waving a magic wand and saying people don't have to pay back money that they willingly borrowed, that will just create an entirely new set of problems, and we still have the same systemic problem at the core, that people are getting degrees in nonsense and can't use them to get a job that pays well. And nobody on the left seems to want to confront that, if all you study is gender bullshit, and become radicalized in leftist activism, and you can't find a job, whose problem is that? It shouldn't be a mystery why so many people are left with a worthless piece of paper saying they graduated college and tens of thousands of dollars of debt, they did that to themselves.

@mat3714 and like I said, I don't think it's the worst thing anyone has ever said, but I can't help but notice the giant, glaring double standard with everyone in these comments, you and I and all of us know that if a Fox personality or some other conservative said the exact same thing, the entire left side of politics would be losing their shit over it. Nazi this Nazi that, it would be the only thing any left wing pundit talked about for weeks, and how every right winger is a Nazi by extension of what the one person said, that was really just a stupid and distasteful thing, but not the most overtly anti semitic thing anyone has ever said. I'm consistent on that, I don't give a shit who says it, that's going to be how I view it, and I can't stand Whoopi, I think she's a low IQ Harpie that's done nothing but harm throughout her entire shallow dive into politics. But I'll still call it as I see it.

@emoryogglethorp8180 yes, fast food by definition is low skilled labor. That's why high school kids do it. It doesn't require any level of education or training, it's one of the easiest jobs that exist. It sucks, it's hard work in ways, but it's not difficult in any way, it's just annoying and tedious. I've done it, for years. I was very good at it. Leftists are not. Leftists are lazy, they make excuses, they lie, they are not good employees. I know this with absolute certainty. And as far as health care, yes, I understand you're asking the wealthy elite to pay higher taxes, but it's laughably stupid to think that politicians would punish their donors so they can give you money. What you're asking for is not what you're going to get in reality.

@DMLoosey Hillary wasn't the President. She illegally obtained documents and destroyed damning evidence against herself and her allies. That is 100% illegal, and a very serious crime, and we have the receipts. It was even acknowledged in court and the judge let her slide because they felt arresting someone in as high a position as her would be "harmful to democracy". Trump did nothing illegal, he was the President, he's authorized to have the documents that he had, he's quite literally authorized to have absolutely any document that exists, there is nothing that is above the President's clearance, he has the highest clearance possible. This is a political persecution, everyone knows it, you know it, you're just too dishonest to admit it, because you're a shit human being.

@helene420 I'm fine personally, I'm engaged to a great woman, we have a great life together. But my eyes are open, I see the problems with society on a broader scale. If you don't believe me just look at the Depp/Heard trial, that's a perfect microcosm of the problem I'm talking about. She's horrible, she's absolutely everything you would describe if you were to describe the biggest nightmare of a person imaginable, and there were people blindly defending her for absolutely no reason other than because she's a woman. Imagine that in the reverse, Depp did all of the things she did, absolutely NOBODY would be rushing to his defense just because he's a man, men and women both would be universally saying wow, what an asshole, that guy is horrible. As they rightfully should in that hypothetical. And that's just one example, but that's how society reacts to those kind of things.
