I believe him, the only reason I'm not a UFC quadruple champ is because I'm too dangerous. I have a gentleman's agreement with Aljamain Sterling, Devieson Figueredo, Alexander Volkanowski, and Francis Ngannou to never challenge them to a fight, since their ego wouldn't let them back down and it would end in me just embarrassing them. Who says Cenk has any skill though, other than Cenk? In fact he's kinda calling his own bluff by saying shit like "I'm a brawler" and "it's about who has the will", those are the kind of things someone who doesn't really know anything says.

Eh, kinda, "brawler" has also been used to describe the style of professional martial artists, although not that often anymore. Generally just means someone who doesn't mind making the fight ugly, or even likes those kind of fights, someone like Derrick Lewis.

And pain isn't really the issue if you get hit in the right spot and just go night-night. Or even kicked in the right spot on the leg and your foot goes numb. Professional fighters very rarely get KO'd or TKO'd because of pain, they either just get put out or their equilibrium is so compromised they can't defend and the fight gets called.

@mmedefarge yea those are all factors, but you would be surprised about the neck thing, it's actually better to have a more flexible neck than a stronger neck, because it disperses more of the energy if your neck moves more freely. It's one of the reasons we don't see a lot of super jacked monsters have great success at heavyweight, they tend to get knocked out more easily than more "normal" sized heavyweights, Stipe Miocic and Fedor Emelianenko are widely regarded as the 2 best heavyweights in MMA history, and neither of them are particularly big or muscular compared to other heavyweights, Cain Velasquez falls into that category too, and Daniel Cormier.

@twistosparks6395 it was a long time ago, probably hard if not impossible to find it online. But Joe has competed in Karate, kickboxing and BJJ. Not at a professional level, but competition is still competition. That's why they brought him on to announce UFC way back in the day, they didn't just randomly pick a mild celebrity and then he got into MMA, he was already into martial arts and also had screen experience and was well spoken, so he was easily the best guy for the job at the time.

I think Joe would be a gentleman and just spar with him until Cenk quits. He would probably gas out in about 3 minutes anyway, Joe could literally just defend until Cenk falls over.

For real, there's numerous reasons Cenk stands little to no chance at that, probably most importantly that he's probably got a grand total of about 3 minutes of energy in his gas tank, and that's if he uses it wisely. Which he likely would not, at all, so in real time, probably about 1 minute.

@mmedefarge well what I'm saying is that it's not even really a factor in the heat of a fight, no matter how strong your will to fight is, if someone hits you on the temple or chin with the right force, you're going out, you can't stop it.
