  5.  @nickthompson1812  it means they should be paid their share of the profit from the project, minus whatever they have to pay the employees. It's obviously more complicated than that, but that's the most reductive explanation of how the pay is determined. It's not just some magic make believe number that someone decided they should get, it's based on the profits of their service.

  9. That's completely untrue, even a poor person in present day America has a better quality of life than middle class people in most other countries. Capitalism is objectively the most successful economic system in societal history, more people have come out of poverty under capitalist systems than every socialist system put together.

  12. Well stated, it's really a bizarre outlook on life, the obsession with equality, the childish jealousy of everyone who has more. It's like they don't even understand that some people will always do more, even if we had a UBI that was equal to whatever the eggheads decide is the minimum "living income", so nobody had to work and we had everything we need, some people would still choose to do more and obtain more wealth and resources. You can't stop that.

When regular people say "work hard", they're not saying you have to do back breaking manual labor, in fact if you're really working hard the right way, you probably won't be breaking rocks for very long, because you work your way up beyond that position. Working hard means discipline, and long term goals.
