No, it's always bad. The only rational way forward is for individuals to be responsible for what information they consume and believe. When you hand off that responsibility to some agency or team of "experts", it's inevitably going to be used for their own gain, and it's always going to be bad for the people.

@dadbodenvy4247 that's fine, but a significant portion of Biden voters would have changed their vote or not voted if they knew about the laptop story, likely enough to have changed the outcome of the election. And that's just one story, one facet of the information suppression. Imagine if they hadn't sat on the numerous other stories that may have hurt democrats, and if they hadn't pushed the numerous fake stories that hurt Republicans. Everyone should be concerned about this. Most people on the left seem to not care, because their guy won this time, but you have to think ahead to when this kind of tampering leads to your guy losing.

@dadbodenvy4247 because they've conducted polls, anywhere between 5-15% of people polled said they would have changed their vote just based on that alone. And I'm aware that's hardly a smoking barrel, definitive proof that Trump would have won. But it's definitely a smoking barrel that proves this was not a "free and fair" election.

@dadbodenvy4247 correct, every nation has always been some combination of capitalist and socialist. When people refer to the US as capitalist, they mean that it's more capitalist than socialist, and Venezuela is more socialist than capitalist. But some element of both types of market will always exist in government, that's why there are so many more terms than just capitalist and socialist.
