@kamifuujin it's different from the perspective of a Christian than it is as an atheist though. If you think non believers are going to burn in a lake of fire for all eternity, you probably want to share that message and help people. If you think you just get eaten by worms no matter what you believe, or just don't believe you know anything about the afterlife, then you don't really care what other people believe because it's not going to make any difference.

@kamifuujin do you even understand what I mean about the different perspectives though? I thought I was pretty thorough with my explanation. I understand that it can be kind of annoying but if you respectfully tell them you're not interested, they usually leave you alone about it. It's not that big of a deal. I'm not saying I agree with Christians, but I do understand where they're coming from, most of the time. Sure there are some douches that just want to feel morally superior, but that exists outside of religion too, and generally speaking they're coming from a place of trying to help.

@kamifuujin do you think your attitude might have something to do with that? Because I've rarely had Christians be particularly pushy with me, even people at work or school, settings like that where we're not necessarily good friends but do have to spend a lot of time together. Funnily enough they're usually surprised to learn I'm an atheist, because I'm not a pretentious douche bag that pretends like I'm smarter than everyone. They associate atheism with people like you.

@kamifuujin just throwing ideas out there, Christian friends I've known pretty well have told me that they are more pushy towards leftists because they think they need it more, leftists are usually extremely angry and discontent, hate the whole world. They don't see that in me, I'm a happy, generally pretty content dude, I enjoy life and treat people well. They see that I seem to be doing fine in my life and don't push things with me very much. Leftism is extremely dangerous. They don't want to help you. They want to use your anger as a weapon, if they actually helped you have a better life, you wouldn't be useful to them anymore.

@kamifuujin nah, the "both sides" argument is completely invalid, some deranged leftist attacks someone virtually every day, just the other day a man intentionally ran over an 18 year old because he claimed the kid was part of a Republican extremist group, and he was released from jail the next day. That's state sponsored terrorism. Doesn't mean the right is completely innocent all the time, but anyone who's being honest can see that the left is the primary violent threat in the US today.

@kamifuujin and as far as anger, the "both sides" argument is completely absurd, the leftist worldview is that everything is terrible and needs to be radically changed, the conservative worldview is that society is worth preserving, and while everything isn't perfect and a lot of things can be made better, we should slowly and incrementally change things while keeping the overall structure. Who sounds more angry and discontent there?

And I'm not even talking about becoming a conservative, just duck out of politics for a while, give it a try. Do like a 2 day cleanse, no political content, just play games or watch movies, whatever it is you're interested in outside of politics. What do you have to lose? You'll see a change in your demeanor before an entire day is up, I promise.

King Charles ✔ leftists. Regular people understand that polls are inherently flawed, and that you can often get a decent general framework about what people believe and how many people believe it, but it's sure as hell not scientifically significant to anything and shouldn't be taken as gospel. Interestingly leftists only worship polls that affirm their worldview and completely ignore the rest. Almost seems like they're dishonest.
