@QualityFirstHQ but you're trying to equate the ownership or possession of a tool with a specific action. Do you not see how those are fundamentally different things? If someone uses a knife to carve a baby out of a woman's womb, that's not illegal because they had a knife. It's illegal because of the action. Just like using a gun to kill someone just bc you feel like it is illegal, as it always has been, regardless of whether or not you legally had the gun in the first place.

@taravanova leftists are celebrating abortion and acting like it's some kind of right of passage for women. Don't even pretend like this isn't true, you and I both know it is. "Safe, legal, and rare" was the compromise that conservatives and liberals came to on this topic. And leftists have pissed all over the compromise and actually pushed for women to get abortions and treated it like there are no moral implications whatsoever, like it's the same as clipping your toenails.

Is there any line that can be drawn, even theoretically, where you would say ok yea, people should take personal responsibility on that. Serious question. Name one thing you think people should be responsible for themselves, and nobody else. Anything. And you really think there are no moral implications to killing a baby just because you don't want it? That's really fucked up. I hope you're just trying to feel like you won an argument, because if you really feel that way, your moral compass is completely defective. I can't even say broken, because there's no way it was functional in the first place.

If conservatives believed in no government at all, they wouldn't be conservatives, they would be anarchists. There are always limits to freedom, and "killing people bad" is about the most basic limitation that all reasonable people agree on, because when you kill someone, they have no freedom at all. Because they're dead.

@meoff7602 and this is why people usually don't bother providing links or examples to smartasses like you that demand examples of something you're skeptical of. Because when someone does provide examples, you just run away instead of acknowledging that you were wrong. This is an opportunity to learn something, and challenge your beliefs. I'm pretty sure saying "hey, don't kill babies" is a pretty basic no-no that most reasonable people can agree on. If the state was any smaller than that, there would be no point in having a government in the first place.

But for the sake of homicide, it's a distinction without a difference. It's wrong either way. You're just using different phrasing as a form of emotional manipulation. You and I both know that.
