@theunholinesswithin3601 I think the more important question is why so many people with college degrees are still broke. Doesn't seem like they got what they paid for.

Great idea, then the people who already have money will have an even more disproportionate advantage in life over the people who just stop paying their debts and completely default on everything they owe, and they'll just simply buy more property and investments. Brilliant.

Why do well educated college graduates need the most though? Seems like they shouldn't really need anything, if you went to school and got an (allegedly) good education, you should be able to figure out how to stand on your own feet, right? Doesn't really seem like a monumental task, plenty of people who didn't go to college at all have figured out how to manage.

@Tyler Holt I'm pretty sure most engineers, physicists, and doctors don't have problems paying back their college loans. Because that's the point of loans. You're given money up front, under the presumption that you'll use that money to make more money, and you can pay it back. Doesn't work so well if you get a degree in lesbian dance theory and then move back in with your mom and work part time at Starbucks.
