Millennials were the first generation where kids were growing up taking pills for ADHD, (ADD back then), anxiety, depression, etc etc. And it's gotten exponentially worse since then.

My fiancee is pregnant, and it's been absolutely revolting how many women asked us if we're "keeping it" when we first found out and were telling people, even when we've gone to the OB to get check ups and blood work and all that, one of the nurses or other staff always have to remind us that we're in Texas and will have to go somewhere else if we want "certain procedures". We never even discussed that as an option, and haven't given any sort of suggestion that we were even thinking about it, that's just the first thing a lot of people jump to whenever anything about pregnancy is brought up.

  10. Even if there were some way to reach the leftist utopia within this world, it could only be done by stripping humanity of everything that makes us human. That doesn't sound very much like utopia to me. All of the things that suck have to exist for anything to be good, we're only happy because sometimes we're sad, we're only excited because sometimes we're bored, and we're only rich because sometimes we're poor.

  11. They made a great point about the semi-anonymity of living in the city, vs a smaller town or suburbs. If you act like a dick at the local supermarket, there's a better chance of people you actually know seeing you act that way, it's pretty easy to build a bad reputation in a small town. When there's a million of you packed into a few city blocks, you're probably not gonna see anyone you know that well, everyone cares less about being seen acting like a dick, because everyone is acting like a dick anyway. It has a sort of multiplying effect, the more densely packed you are, the more inappropriate people behave.

  16. What's really bizarre to think about is how unique our experience is, that we may be the first people to be fully aware that we're living in the collapse of our own civilization. An average roman living in the last few decades of their peak probably didn't think "this is the best Rome that's ever been!" because it was just their life, they didn't have a lot to compare it to. But with the internet, and better records of international affairs and history, we're fully aware of what's happening around us and where it's happened before in history. Not all of us, obviously. The people who are causing the collapse have no idea.

Feminism encouraged women to choose career over family, women in the workforce depressed wages, loose border policy depressed wages even more, feminism encouraged women to not get attached to men and raise kids on their own. So every individual is making less money, very little people can support a family on one income, more kids raised in broken homes, more kids in day care, we've substuted teachers as parents. And all of this was done on purpose.

Justice is just justice, it doesn't matter who you are, or who they are, or what cause you say you're fighting for. I wouldn't want to live in the communist utopia even if it could be achieved, a world where all of our needs are met by some outside force, all the struggle of life is stripped away, and in turn our humanity, and what makes us unique as individuals? No thanks. I've made a lot of mistakes and there's a lot of things I could have done differently that would have made my life a lot easier today than it is. And if I had a time machine, sure maybe I would change some things. But maybe I wouldn't, or shouldn't. All of those things shaped who I am, and I still struggle, but I like my life. I think this is the real reason communists are so angry and unhappy, they think they want stuff, and to not struggle, but what they really want is a purpose, and something to struggle for. They'll never have that as long as they buy into communism. It's a never ending cycle of depression and anger. No amount of stuff would ever be enough for them.

  25.  @herbiehusker1889  no no no, that wasn't REAL socialism🤣🤣🤣 I've always found this argument particularly stupid, because even if it wasn't socialism but was just labeled as such, it's going to attract people who like socialism to the movement. So at the very least, people who joined the Nazi movement were socialists, because that's what they thought they were getting. It wouldn't make any sense to start a movement that isn't socialist and call yourself a socialist.

Because you have them in a natural state, if I'm alone on a deserted island, I can say whatever I want, I can eat whatever I want, I can worship whatever God I want, and I can do anything necessary to survive. It's amazing how they've managed to give the term "nationalism" such a negative connotation, nationalism is just the opposite of globalism, it's completely normal and rational to prioritize your home nation over others, the same way you prioritize your home and your family over others. There's obviously a lot of variation, but it makes sense if you think about the jobs they were bred for. A border collie is supposed to control, herd, and protect a group of dozens of animals that could each individually knock the shit out of them, and coordinate with a human handler in how to do that. That's a freaking smart animal. A beagle is supposed to watch their person shoot a bird, sniff around until the find the bird, and then scream bloody murder until the person catches up. Not particularly smart. Very useful, but not smart.

Or and you can not work and be destitute. Choice is all yours. And these principles are true, whether you believe in communism or capitalism. Makes no difference. The only difference is capitalism allows for people to keep what they earn, communism attempts to "right the wrongs" of the universe by artificially balancing imaginary scales that can already be balanced by giving people the freedom of trade that they would have in a capitalist system.

  40. I think we need to reform the whole thing from the ground up, higher minimum requirements, higher pay, and gut the unions from the inside out. Police, firefighters, and EMT's should all be well trained and well paid, they should be prestigious positions that attract the best kind of people. And then they wouldn't need artificial protection from unions.

  42. Cut off 100% of government aid for non citizens. If some people are working and still can get by without it, fine, close enough, the overwhelming majority of them will just leave, and stop coming over. It's not an absolute solution, but you're cutting out the root so more weeds don't grow. Of course this is idealistic thinking, that would never actually happen in the current political climate, but that's the most simple solution.

I work at a kennel, and one of the owners' dogs had a litter about 4 years ago. 3 of the pups ended up with employees or regular customers, so they were all raised in different homes, but are all regular at the kennel and we've gotten to know them individually. And they're all very different. Similar in intelligence, but not the same. Meadow is definitely the smartest, but she's also a pampered mamas girl that will pretty quickly cry and expect a person to do something for her, when she could do it herself. Penny is the most independent, you would think she's the smartest on the surface just because she's not a needy little asswipe like Meadow, but after enough time around both, you realize Meadow is actually smarter. Hazel is...... Special. I dunno what happened to that one.
