I'm old enough to remember when The Simpsons was relatively new, and it was actually very controversial that a cartoon would have adult content like that. And The Simpsons is mild as hell by today's standards.

It's amazing how they've managed to give the term "nationalism" such a negative connotation, nationalism is just the opposite of globalism, it's completely normal and rational to prioritize your home nation over others, the same way you prioritize your home and your family over others. It doesn't mean you hate everyone else or want to hurt them, it just means they should care about themselves the same way you care about yourself and your people.

@flamestoyershadowkill sorta, it was the first really big one. If we take a deep dive we can probably find adult cartoons that came before, but none came before, got such a big following, and remained around so long. So The Simpsons is essentially the OG of adult cartoons.
