Cut off 100% of government aid for non citizens. If some people are working and still can get by without it, fine, close enough, the overwhelming majority of them will just leave, and stop coming over. It's not an absolute solution, but you're cutting out the root so more weeds don't grow. Of course this is idealistic thinking, that would never actually happen in the current political climate, but that's the most simple solution.

"Just give people more money!" "Just give people healthcare!" "Just make wages higher!" "Just build more houses!" This is seriously the leftist "idea" to solve absolutely every problem. It's toddler level thinking. Why do we even entertain these kinds of ideas?

@myopinionsmayoffendyou exactly, honestly cutting off most of social programs even for citizens would help a lot of the other problems in western nations. I don't like that, I wish there was a way we could take care of the elderly, retired vets, disabled, etc etc, there are a lot of people who legitimately need help, and we have the wealth and resources to do it. It's just so hard to actually implement that without it primarily benefitting people who exploit that good will. But not allowing it to non citizens should be a no-brainer, it blows my mind that it's even controversial.

@ghmj2607 not a Brit, American. And I get what you're saying, I don't have all the answers, and I do think people should have at least some base level of medical care available, especially when we're talking about kids, I hate the idea of kids suffering because their parents made poor decisions, although some degree of that exists in society no matter what. But we do have some responsibility to bridge that gap in reasonable ways. I also don't like the idea of people being charged different amounts of money for the same thing because of their income. I think that's horse shit. We shouldn't punish people for being successful and reward people for being unsuccessful. It's different when we're talking about medical care, I understand that. Nobody should die from a treatable illness just bc they're poor, while Joe Biden can just pump himself full of fetus juice and continue his near zombie like existence, I don't like that either. If the US could cut out some of the other nonsense expenditure of tax funding, maybe I would be less stubborn about socialized healthcare.
