  1. I think we need to reform the whole thing from the ground up, higher minimum requirements, higher pay, and gut the unions from the inside out. Police, firefighters, and EMT's should all be well trained and well paid, they should be prestigious positions that attract the best kind of people. And then they wouldn't need artificial protection from unions.
