Nobody genuinely likes Nirvana, not a single person in the entire world. If someone says they like Nirvana, what they're really saying is they're not smart enough to actually like music, so they're just saying they like whatever they think other people like. Even Cobain didn't like Nirvana, that's why he tried to eat a shotgun.

I would like to see the Lotus Eaters crew listen to and break down "Science" by System of a Down, they're not my favorite group, but I heard that song the other day and was blown away at how prophetic it is, I remember it from when I was in high school, at the time it was just typical edgy metal/hard rock. But he's talking about how science doesn't account for everything, and people who laser focus on science forget about faith and spirit, and they're vulnerable to manipulation.

@virvum_cypher its a status thing, they just do it to fit in. It's the same people who desperately tried to keep up with all the trends in high school, so they could be part of the "it" crowd. They never grew up.

@virvum_cypher how many people actually care about wearing name brand clothes, or fancy jewelry? Nobody does. They do that for other people to notice, it's 100% based on boosting people's perception of them. Groups like Nirvana are the same way, people are signaling to other stupid losers that they're interesting and cultured. Or at least that's what they think.

@Maj.Retard432duh I actually think Nirvana was a troll, like the group was started as a joke, to prove a point about consumerism and the power of suggestion. Like hey, let's make awful music but market it for stupid people, just to prove that they're stupid and they'll like whatever fart noises we tell them to like. And it got way out of hand, after their albums actually started selling, the band members were like woah, people actually like this shit. Should we stop? We're harming society, aren't we?

@virvum_cypher yep. They sold to stupid people who want to pretend like they're smart enough to have an opinion, and they're too cowardly to admit they don't really know what they like.
