All those conditions are real, they're just massively over diagnosed. Most people suffering from symptoms can be helped more without the use of drugs.

Leftists just want whatever gets them the most gibs. That's all. They have zero principles beyond that. If you can even call that a principle.

Is there a bright side to SSRIs?

I have an ex girlfriend whose dad died from cancer in his 50s, her mom was on an entire buffet of pills when we met. It started with an anti depressant, that led to side effects which led to side effects and so on and so on. And chances are she didn't even need the anti depressant, being depressed because your husband died is not a mental condition, it's just being human. She needed time and therapy. You're supposed to be sad when sad things happen.

@grayfox2618 if that were true, we would have seen a decrease in self harm since we started mass diagnosing mental illnesses. But that's not even close to true, we've seen a tremendous increase in self harm.

@grayfox2618 so why has self harm increased? Seems like it would have decreased, since you say SSRIs reduce self harm, you would think the overall rate of self harm would have decreased since their introduction into common medicine. It has not decreased. It's increased.

@grayfox2618 so why don't you look for the stats yourself? Are you scared to be wrong? Because I know I'm right. I can find the numbers if you want, but you and I both know it won't make any difference. If you actually cared to know, you would already know.

@grayfox2618 yea I figured that would shut you up. Objective reality always shuts ideologues up.
