Slavery used to have popular support too, for a long time. And decent people fought the left for it, because it was wrong, and decent people won. Abortion will be looked back on the same. The left is always on the wrong side of history when it comes to human rights.

Why does the parents' "right" supercede the rights of an unborn baby that can't speak for themselves or defend themselves? Isn't that exactly what government is meant to protect, those who can't protect themselves?

@zzanatos2001 that's complete nonsense, based on that logic, murder should be legal. There's no separation in logic. Religious beliefs have nothing to do with whether or not it's morally objectionable to kill an unborn baby.

@DissectGibberish that's just a left wing conspiracy theory meant to manipulate people who are so stupid they think leftism is a good idea. The only "switch" in the parties was democrats going from overt and aggressive racism before the civil rights movement, to covert and passive racism, "the soft bigotry of low expectations".

Republicans believe in having the freedom to make your own life better. The left believes in forcing people who have made good lives for themselves to pay for other people's bad decisions.
