@umbraemilitos and most importantly, you have to be willing to be as dishonest and deceitful as possible, and do whatever it takes to win the debate, even if you completely lose the point you were originally trying to debate for. That's the main reason I can't stand debate. It's not about who's right or who's wrong, or who has the more sensible ideas, it's about who's better at debate, and who's better is usually whoever plays dirtier.

@annprice266 but what if the people don't want those sectors to be collectivized? What if those socialist policies are voted in, but then a few years later the majority of people decide they don't like it, and vote to de-collectivize and go back to a free market model?

@c1pherx it's not that he uses gross language, he just talks in a way that appeals to kids. That's his target audience. How old would you guess the average age of his viewer is? I would have to say around 17. When they're young and naive, and so stupid they think socialism is a good idea. Pakman's audience has no excuse, most of them are adults. Adult age at least. There's no such thing as a grown up socialist. If you still believe socialism is a good idea, you're not grown up. Zero exceptions.

@onetwo8847 people can like or dislike anyone they want, for any reason they want. There are plenty of YouTubers who I agree with more than I disagree, but I don't watch their channel that much either because I don't like their delivery, or they're just kinda boring, or any number of other reasons.

@onetwo8847 seems like you're twisting the other guy's words here, I don't see anywhere where he said the language is the only or even primary reason he doesn't like Vaush. At least that's not how I took it. Either way maybe he just doesn't like Vaush. Not up to you to decide for him.

@onetwo8847 and you conveniently leave out the part where they said they could get their political commentary from someone who doesn't talk like that. So they're not saying that's the only reason they don't watch him, they're saying they don't think there's anything particularly unique about him other than his off putting language. And maybe I'm wrong, I don't generally like to speak for other people, but if I'm wrong they can correct me.

Socialism IS authoritarianism, always has been, always will be. People with wealth and resources don't always just give it away to people who have less just because they're cool dudes like that. @Cancellator5000 utter nonsense, leftism is authoritarianism, right wing ideology is freedom. That's the left/right paradigm as simply put as possible, right wing ideology means individual liberty, that opens the door for insecurity, because there is less to fall back on, but it doesn't shift towards authoritarianism. Leftism means collectivism, which will always inherently lead to authoritarianism, when you value security over liberty, you have to outsource that to an authority. Most leftists are too stupid to understand this, most people wouldn't willingly walk into authoritarianism, so that's why stupid people and immoral people are the primary targets for leftist indoctrination, and kids who just don't know any better.

@onetwo8847 let's say there are 2 restaurants by your house, pretty much the same quality, or at least comparable, but one of them has a small parking lot and you have to park across the street a lot. So you usually go to the other one. If I were being dishonest, and trying to make you seem silly, I would say you don't go there because you're too lazy to park and walk across the street. And there's some truth to that, that's the main reason you choose the other restaurant, but that's still a dishonest way for me to phrase it, and it's deliberately dishonest, because the whole truth is that you like that restaurant fine, it's just that the other restaurant is just as good and has a better parking situation. Does that make sense?

It's just low brow gotcha content, he plays a selectively edited 2 minute sound byte and pauses every 5 seconds so he can tell his audience what their opinion is supposed to be. I can't comprehend how anyone likes that kind of shit, it's so obnoxious.

We live in some pretty damn polarized times, 99% of the people watching a debate are going to side with whoever they sided with before the debate, no matter what, even if someone is actually objective enough to admit that the person they agree with more lost the debate, it's still probably not going to change their mind on the topic. I'm not saying nobody ever changes their mind about politics, but it's usually not because of some debate they saw online. Debate is primarily for the "gotchas", and more often than not the fans of each person are going to think they won either way.

Vaush is actually a pretty smart guy, he just knows his audience is stupid. And he's also good at sounding intelligent without actually saying anything intelligent. I hate him with a burning passion, I think Vaush is one of the most dangerous political figures on the internet, because of where his ideology leads to and how many angry idiots listen to him. But I'll give credit where it's due, he's skilled at his little niche that he's going for.
