@tiffanyh1274 it wasn't as blatant in the old days, media outlets at least tried to maintain the veneer of "neutrality". But media has always favored democrats and leftist views in the US, that's existed forever. They just used to be more sneaky about it, they would just downplay anything that makes democrats look bad, and highlight anything that makes Republicans look bad. It's why the cities and the less politically involved have always leaned democrat, and the suburbs and more informed people have always leaned republican.

@dbeagan1 wasn't very uncommon back in those days, most pitchers basically just threw the ball at the plate, it wasn't like today's game at all. If it was a blowout or if your pitcher got hurt, you would just bring in whatever position player had a strong arm. Which still happens every once in a while today, but it's far less common. They didn't have "relief pitchers" the way we have them now, you just had your starting pitcher and some other pitchers that weren't as good. The "bullpen" back then was basically guys that weren't good enough to really see any action most of the time.
