People tend to move to the right as they get older though, very rarely in the other direction. Do you think people get worse at critical thinking as they get older and gain life experience? Because that doesn't make any sense.

@OldManYellsAtClouds the evidence is in voting demographics. People consistently vote more conservative as they get older, it's always been that way. The left is idealistic, the right is realistic. As you get older you start to see the world less like you want it to be and more like it actually is.

@feathersigil2048 because they start to view the world less like they want it to be, and more like it actually is. I already stated this earlier, it's really pretty basic psychology. Leftism is idealistic, right wing philosophy is realistic. Leftism only works based off of how leftists think people should act, that's not practical for the real world, people don't always act the way you want them to. Even if they did, that doesn't mean that behavior is good or correct. It's not up to you to decide how people should act, and laws shouldn't be written based on how you want people to act, they should be written based on how people actually act, and according to promoting the best behaviors, not forcing them.

@AndrewBurbo-zw6pf exactly. I don't think all leftists are necessarily stupid, as much as I talk shit about it. But I think everyone that's politically engaged and a leftist is stupid. Most democrat voters just don't really pay attention to politics, that's understandable. I don't think it's excusable, if you don't care and don't know about politics, you shouldn't vote. But if you do care, and you do pay attention to politics, and you're a leftist and vote democrat, you're an idiot. Your brain doesn't work. There are no exceptions.
