Maybe some good can come from this, maybe this will be the thing that wakes some leftists up to how bat shit insane and out of control cancel culture has become. Probably not. Most of you will go right back to the torches and pitchforks the next time someone you don't like says something slightly controversial. But the hopeless optimist in me would like to think at least some percentage of people on the left will get a little dose of reality from this and snap back into the real world.

That's ummm..... Sort of what conservatives have been saying since pretty much the dawn of time. Bad behavior is bad behavior, whether it has racial motivations or not. And racial motivations are bad too, but the behavior and the actions are what we should be concerned about, not race or motivation.

Be honest, you wouldn't be so forgiving if it was a right winger saying the exact same thing.

I find it hilarious how the overwhelming majority of leftists are so forgiving of Whoopi saying this, and acting like it's no big deal. Which I actually agree with, but that's exactly what every normal person in the entire world has been saying for years and years now every time you lunatics flip out and try to destroy someone's career over something they said that was just dumb and in poor taste.

@thatindiandude4602 most of the left is anti semitic. At least the people at the top, the thought leaders. A lot of the followers are just stupid, and don't realize there's a deep seeded element of anti semitism to their entire worldview.

@Oooooooo15555 has it ever crossed your mind that you only think that because that's what leftists tell you? Give me an example of a right winger saying something actually racist, just one example. Be specific. I'm curious what this horrible racism is that 97% of people on the right say.
1
@SunshineCasy then they're not really that racist then, are they? The whole point of why racism is reprehensible is because it can translate into violence or unjust treatment of people. If someone is otherwise a nice person, but has some racist views, is that really the worst thing in the world? If they're not harming anyone? I would be more worried about someone who's not racist but does harm people than someone who's racist but doesn't harm anyone. Everyone has some views that other people may not approve of, as long as it's just views that don't translate into violence or mistreatment, I don't care. There are people who like pistachio ice cream. For real. As long as they don't try to make anyone else eat pistachio ice cream, I guess they're alright. As long as they stay away from me with that nasty shit.

@ohana8535 like changing their name to Goldberg because they thought they would gain favor in Hollywood if they had a "Jewish name"? Because that's what Whoopi's history is, dating back to literally the beginning of her professional career.

@Scuuurbs Gina Carano ring a bell?
1
@ohana8535 does that really make a discernable difference?
1
@Scuuurbs 1) very similar scenario. 2) what poor behavior? That's just hearsay, you don't know that any more than I do. 3) and bullshit, Whoopi was on Colbert the same day and doubled down on her comments, she didn't apologize until later, after she saw the backlash she was getting. And do you really care about an apology? Would you be all good with Gina if she had just apologized?
1
@ohana8535 well she eventually had a Hollywood career, right? Maybe she changed her name with those aspirations. In fact I think that's highly likely.
1
@Scuuurbs funny, apologies have never mattered to the leftist outrage mob before. Plenty of other people have apologized, and you didn't care.

I love how you just assign intention to people based on whether you agree or disagree with their politics.
