  3. Nobody is trying to say the President has complete control over the economy, and nobody is saying they should. But they have more control over the overall well being of the country than any other individual person. But of course you know this, you're just being dishonest.

By labelling themselves as progressive, they're implying that their progress is the right kind of progress. Only an idiot can get won over by such childish rhetoric and wordplay, that's why all progressives are idiots.
