@Hattie Lankford the problem is that the left is completely incapable of moderation, you take everything to the most absurd extreme. "Believe victims" turned into "ruin innocent people's lives just because some crazy person made a baseless accusation, screw the facts and evidence and due process, we want blood and we want it now" in the blink of an eye. And now you've created an entirely new class of victims, without actually really helping any of the real victims. Congratulations.

@Hattie Lankford which is precisely why laws are written with bad actors in mind, whether or not you think most people will take advantage of a policy or a law is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is if people can take advantage of it, because if the answer is yes, then some people inevitably will, and it's not a good law or policy to put into legislation. There was never a time where victims couldn't come forward with accusations, that's not a thing that ever existed in the United States, that's pure fantasy invented by the left. I understand that there are societal factors and other complicated issues that might make it difficult for victims to come forward with accusations, but that doesn't mean that you can't, it just means it may be difficult. But the metoo movement irrefutably made things objectively worse, the wheel was turned way too far in the opposite direction and now people's lives are being destroyed over completely bogus accusations. You can't take that damage back. Those people's lives and reputations are ruined forever. You've already done a lot of damage. The best thing you can do now is to have the humility to admit you were wrong, and reverse course before more innocent people's lives are ruined. And I'm not just talking about men who were falsely accused. Women who were victimized have had their lives ruined too, because wolf has been cried so many times that real victims are actually more hesitant to come forward now, because the market has been saturated by fake victims. And yes, it is a market, as sad and disgusting as it is. The left has made being a fake victim a new career path. A very lucrative career path.

@Hattie Lankford my grammar was fine. And that's not an argument even if it wasn't. Also, the fact that you're willing to give your opinion but not hear someone else's opinion is accidentally proving my point to be correct. You're the problem, not the solution. Real people have suffered and are continuing to suffer because of your ideology. But I'm sure you don't care, you hide behind fake virtue because it makes you feel warm and fuzzy to pretend like you're a decent person.

You might feel this way if you spend most of your time around leftists, leftists are arrogant, ignorant, and dishonest. Nobody ever wants to admit to what they don't know, so they just pretend to know about things they know nothing about. Normal people aren't like that, if they don't know something they'll just say they don't know, and people that have some sense of humility generally understand the basics of science. Doesn't mean they know everything, obviously, but when you're capable of admitting when you're wrong, and what you don't know, you become capable of learning new things. You lefties should try it some time. It's the first step towards curing leftism.

@OldManYellsAtClouds when was the last time you said something to the effect of "oh damn, I guess I was wrong about that", without any qualifier or excuse attached to it? Really ask yourself that question. Think of a specific example.

If you were actually a scientist, you would have been more specific about your profession instead of just referring to yourself as a "scientist". Because we know the science type can't resist an opportunity to not so humble brag about their career. Nice try. But it's actually a really weak try, I was just being polite. Sorta.

The 2 concepts aren't directly contradictory though, you can understand science and also have faith in a higher power.

@user-ii2fu7ii6z but the same gaps exist, whether you choose to believe it's because of God, or you're comfortable just saying I don't know. There are a lot of things science hadn't explained. If someone were to say earthquakes happen because God is angry about that movie you watched after your wife fell asleep, sure, I'll say that's ignorant, but someone can acknowledge that earthquakes happen because of tectonic tension and also believe in God. Those things do not contradict each other. Something like 10% of the world's population is atheist, if you're trying to suggest that 90% of the world's population is ignorant, including the majority of people on the left and the majority of professionals in science and academia, I would say it's more likely that you're ignorant.
