This is what one party rule looks like. Maybe seeing this in other nations should give American leftists a chance to pause and reflect, ask yourselves if you really want the things you think you want.

@hamishgaffaney5323 well there isn't a "2 party system" in the US, it's just that nobody really votes for any party other than Republican or Democrat. It's a pretty complex problem, but there's this attitude that a vote for any other party is a "wasted vote", because they don't have a realistic chance of winning, and you're just taking a vote away from whichever of the 2 major parties you hate less. Because it's really like that, not many people really enthusiastically like Republicans, they just hate them less than Democrats, and not many people enthusiastically like Democrats, they just hate them less than Republicans. And sadly, it's a self fulfilling prophecy, because if most people feel like 3rd party or independent is a wasted vote, then it is. Nothing will change unless people start standing on principle, and are willing to lose a few elections in order for more parties to grow in popularity.

@hamishgaffaney5323 you act like those are the only available options. Either way, 2 main parties is sure as shit better than one party totalitarianism, like the entirety of the left wants. Whether they would admit it out loud or not.

Democrats in the US are doing the same thing, look at everyone who's crossed the Clintons. Lots of suspicious deaths there. And on a less extreme level than just "taking care" of dissidents, look at how obviously inconsistent things like social media censorship are. They're beyond the stage of subtly enforcing single party rule, they're making it obvious on purpose, to demoralize any would-be dissenting voices. If the left populous in America has even a shred of courage and honesty, they would speak out against it too, while we still have a chance. But they won't.

That analogy would be more apt for democrats, since democrats are the ones looking only at the surface and saying that guns are the problem, and we should just get rid of them. Republicans are the ones saying that you shouldn't blame an object for people's behaviors, and that we should be looking deeper at what's causing people to be so violent in the first place. So really you should be saying it's a good thing Russia isn't run by Democrats, because they would just be trying to outlaw windows.
