I miss the days where nobody knew or give a shit about the politics of athletes. Maybe you know because for some reason you know that athlete personally. But it wasn't shoved into every nook and cranny of every day life. Everything was better back then. Sports are supposed to be an escape from topics deeper than sports, not a platform for them.

Conservatives aren't the ones screeching about climate change. They're not saying people shouldn't be allowed to fly on private jets, they're saying you shouldn't take a private jet to go preach to people about how they shouldn't drive cars. Not a difficult concept to grasp.

@skippythealien9627 Trump got a lot of warm welcomes at sporting events. Of course he got a lot of boos too, he's a polarizing figure. But a lot of people like him. Much more than can be said for Biden. Best case scenario for Biden is nobody shows up. Worst and more likely scenario is nearly everyone in the stadium boos and mocks him.

No disrespect to any fans, drivers, or other team members, I really get how difficult and physically demanding racing is, at least as much as an outsider looking in can. But I've just never gotten the appeal of watching cars drive really fast in an oval for hours. Not for me. Of course I'm a baseball fan, and a lot of people think my sport is boring too. To each their own.
