If you just cross the river in the middle of the night, authorities are correct in assuming you may not be an asylum seeker, but just illegally crossing. Not to mention Mexico is not considered a hostile nation, most people coming from Mexico do not have a legitimate asylum claim, and most people from central and south America can seek asylum in Mexico.

  8.  @debbieknight8901  but you tried to bait me into some "gotcha" about legal asylum seekers, to which I was honest about, because there is such thing as legal asylum seekers, but I made the valid point that the majority of people illegally crossing the border are not asylum seekers, which you ignored because your entire point was trying to excuse all migration as being legal asylum seekers, which you and I both know is not true. Again, you're being dishonest, not me. That's why you're trying to end the conversation, because you didn't expect me to be honest, probably because you mostly interact with other leftists. None of you are honest people, if you were an honest person, you wouldn't be a leftist.

  12.  @debbieknight8901  but that's not my opinion, it's verifiably true that the majority of people crossing the border do not have legitimate asylum claims, in fact a very small percentage of them are granted legal asylum. And too bad elections aren't determined by popular vote.

  14.  @debbieknight8901  you still haven't even addressed why anyone coming from Mexico would even need to claim asylum, with only some exceptions Mexico is generally not considered a hostile nation, so anyone coming from there probably does not have a legitimate claim, and anyone coming from further south could seek asylum in Mexico. In fact China consistently has the most asylum seekers coming into the US per year.
