It's definitely a contributing factor, people don't really have to think nearly as much as they used to. Even about stupid shit, like who was that guy in that movie who's name you can't think of? Dunno. Not that long ago you had to actually retrieve the information from your brain. Now you try for maybe 5 seconds max, and just Google it.

@MadCatLady28 I guess I see what you mean though, it ultimately boils down to nature vs nurture thing. And to me the answer to that is varying degrees of both, parents absolutely do shape how their children think and how they use that. I don't think that's the answer the left is looking for though, leftists hate personal responsibility, leftists think that schools should have more control over children than their own parents. That's a large part of the reason so many young people can't think critically, because of the left and their irresponsible behavior. Look at the smug attitude of all the people in these comments. Everyone thinks they're so smart, it's sickening. Bunch of pretentious tools that are hilariously misinformed about absolutely everything, while acting like they know it all. Leftism is the product of irresponsible parents who never should have had kids.
