If online media companies want to police speech, then they shouldn't have any special protections from lawsuits. Private users should be able to sue them for defamation from other private users. The same as you would be able to sue a magazine or newspaper for publishing a defamatory piece against you. Or they can just let anyone say whatever they want and wash their hands of legal liability. But they have to pick a lane.

People who support free speech should still oppose online censorship on principle though, if you believe in free speech on principle that is. They wouldn't censor political opinions if there wasn't public sentiment encouraging it.

They should be held to the same legal standard as any other publisher. Because that's what they are, if they want to police speech. They're no longer a platform. If a newspaper or TV station runs a false story, they're fair game for lawsuits against them. Social media has special protection. They shouldn't.

Andre Calvit I wouldn't call antifa neo-nazis, mostly because they hate their own country, but other than that there is considerable overlap between antifa and Nazi ideology.

Andre Calvit they just have hatred for different groups.

Andre Calvit just like Nazis hated communists, and decided that everyone they don't like is a communist. That's the same thing antifa and the far left do by labeling everyone they don't like as a Nazi or a fascist. It's the same thing in reverse.

Andre Calvit when did I call anyone a fascist or a nazi? I just said that there's considerable overlap between Nazis, and antifa. Because there is. And you still haven't refuted that at all, because I'm correct.

Andre Calvit I didn't say that hating Nazis makes you a Nazi. I honestly don't even understand how someone as stupid as you could get that conclusion, so you must be just being dishonest to try and prove whatever stupid point you think you're making. I'm only saying that a lot of the tactics between antifa and Nazis are the same, label groups as "others" to justify violence, and gradually extend the definition of what those "others" are until it's everyone outside of your specific group. That part is exactly the same. They just have different groups that they label as "others".
