  1. It's really not though, conservatives just don't think that charity should be put into the hands of the state and enforced by mandate. You can't honestly think that conservatives are ideologically opposed to helping other people, do you? We just think that we can take care of each other just fine without big brother federal government making us do it and skimming a little off the top for the big guy.

  3. I've taken considerable effort to avoid "like" and "literally" from my vocabulary when it's used improperly. It's damn hard though, there are strong tendencies to pick up speaking patterns from the people you're around, and anyone who spends a significant amount of time around people 20-30 years old hears that a lot.
