Funny how damn near nobody was saying Sean was going to win yesterday, and the entire internet knew he was going to win today.

I'm happy for him. I'm gonna sound like a bandwagoner here, and I guess I am, but Sean won me over, I'm a fan. I was never a hater, I just didn't care about him that much before. He worked his ass off though, he deserves this. Just to come back from a knee injury like that and fight at all is amazing, even if he was losing. To come back and win a world title is incredible, more people need to know his story.

This is one of those fights where I'm kicking myself for not noticing before the fight, Sean's style is a bad matchup for Izzy. I was barely giving Sean any chance going into this fight, but I was wrong, I should have seen that his awkward striking style would be tricky for Izzy's style, Sean looks so easy to hit but he's actually really hard to hit. He leaves his hands down to ghost you in, because he's so good at leaning back and slipping punches, he can get away with having low hands, that and how active he is with jabs and quick hooks makes for a really effective style. Lesson learned, I'm gonna give him his due credit next time.

@TechOutAdam oh no, an athlete doesn't agree with your politics? What a monster!!!🤣

@amorgan5844 seriously, I was calling 1st rd KO for Izzy. I thought it was gonna be target practice. This is one of the most shocking upsets I've seen, in my view at least.

@KryMoore I knew people would be saying this if Sean won, I was even joking about it last night. I said there's a 95% chance Izzy wins, I was wrong. Sean won, he earned it. And I said if somehow Sean does win, every genius on the internet is going to be saying it was fixed.

Upsets happen buddy. Especially in combat sports, at the highest level. Fights get fixed too, that absolutely does happen, but just because a huge upset happens doesn't automatically mean it was fixed.

@yanissmith4982 one of the biggest advantages to PEDs is decreased recovery time. Which is obviously a huge advantage in combat sports, it means you can go harder in training and work out more often. Everyone always looked at the homerun hitters when it was a big controversy in baseball, I was telling everyone it's the aging pitchers more than anyone that are doing it. Pitching every 5 days starts to get a lot harder when you're on the wrong side of 35, a little synthetic boost to your recovery time can add an extra few seasons to your career. It's similar in combat sports.

@WizzlyBearW0rms I dunno, I only saw highlights, haven't seen the full fight. But from what I saw it looked like Sean just straight up outclassed him, he almost knocked him out in the first round, knocked him down and had him wobbled. It looked like he was just quicker, he was landing punches with ease, and all Izzy seemed to be able to effectively land was leg kicks. Again, don't take my word as gospel, someone who watched the full fight could probably tell you more. But that's what I gathered from highlights.

@greigite5191 for real, I gave him about a 5% chance. I was wrong, I don't get any sense of gratification by pretending I was right about something, I was just straight up wrong. That's why this sport is so great, no matter how much you think you know, crazy shit happens.
