@jonathansoko1085 he pulls pretty good numbers, not Conor numbers, but he's still pretty high up there. Any heavyweight title fight is always going to sell, but there's a lot of hype around Francis.

I've always found the 265lb cap kinda odd too, I think they should either remove the weight limit all together, or make another division for 240+.

Don't you put that bad juju on it. Seems like every time people think a heavyweight fight is going to be awesome, and it seems like it's going to be awesome, it ends up being a dud. Like Francis and Gane, and Francis and Lewis....

Gane had never been on his back in the UFC prior to that fight though. I hope he really works his ground game, he's still a young guy with a lot of room to move up, I'm not saying a potential rematch would be any different, but it was with Francis vs Stipe, this is a make or break time for Gane in his career, where we have a chance to see what he's really made of. Adjust and get better, like Francis did, or fade off into obscurity along with countless other hype trains that hit a wall they couldn't pass.

@chrisj1612 my point is still relevant though, especially considering Gane was unbeaten before. The nature of the loss probably isn't as demoralizing as Stipe vs Francis 1, but a lot of unbeaten fighters attach a lot of their ego to that perfect record, there's been a lot of guys that really lose their edge as soon as they get their first loss.

There's been a few guys north of 300 who have competed in MMA outside of UFC. Most of them suck, lol. They can't move. There's been guys in the UFC though who had to cut weight to make 265, Brock Lesnar most famously, he walked around at about 290. I think that's bullshit, it's heavyweight, they should be able to go in there as big as they want. That's the whole point of fighting at heavyweight. It's usually not as much of an advantage anyway, the bigger guys gas out faster and tend to be able to take less strikes. But it's a huge disadvantage for guys like Brock and Mark Hunt to have to starve and dehydrate themselves to make a weight that's completely unnatural for them.

I wish there was some kind of roach spray for internet spambots.
