And they simultaneously cry about other people being selfish and greedy.

@PrimericanIdol so go off into the woods and live off the land. Nobody is stopping you. If you want to live within society, where someone else sets up electricity, clean potable water, and all the other modern amenities we're dependent on, it comes at a price. That's just how reality works.

@PrimericanIdol because thinking people's property rights should be respected is authoritarian now.

@curiositycloset2359 spoken by someone that's never earned anything, or owned anything.

We're living in anarcho-tyranny. Anarchy for anyone who furthers the goals of the elites, tyranny for the rest of us.

@curiositycloset2359 not someone else's land.

@redwall1521 well, they're incorrect. It's not a matter of perspective, if you think you should be able to just seize something that belongs to someone else, because you want it, then you're the authoritarian. Not the person saying property rights should be respected.
3
@curiositycloset2359 that doesn't even make any sense.

@redwall1521 no I see what you're saying, and I'm not just shutting them out off hand, I've had this conversation before. And "god given" is the same as natural rights, you don't have to believe in God to understand the concept of positive and negative rights, I don't believe in God.

@redwall1521 of course I don't trust the government completely, but I understand that it's a necessary evil. If we were to revert back to just claiming whatever land you want, then someone can just as easily claim it from you. Then we end up in a society where the guy with the most guns and money owns everything. Government is necessary so there's a neutral arbiter and a system in place to settle property disputes. Is it perfect? Of course not. Can it be corrupted? Hell yes, and it usually is. But just getting rid of it all together makes corruption absolute and everywhere. Having some system in place leads to less chaos and less injustice than having no system at all, even if the system is completely corrupted.

@curiositycloset2359 my last response was meant for you, not redwall.
