It was quite a spectacle to see Lance use the "it's not happening", "it's only happening a little bit" and "of course it's happening, and here's why it's a good thing" defenses all simultaneously when talking about child transitioning. I guess he didn't get the memo that you're supposed to be a little more sneaky about that, and only use one defense at a time.

He looks and acts like a movie character that's comically ridiculous and meant to be hated. The kind of character that's so bad it's actually bad writing, because nobody could be that objectively unlikable in real life. Except it's apparently not bad writing, because he exists in real life.

Channels like The Majority Report are making videos about how well he did and made Tim look like a fool. Those people have very severe brain damage.

You have to have self awareness to realize when you're making a fool of yourself, and if you have self awareness, you're not a socialist.

@rickrollrizal I think that's a subcategory of stage 2, "it's only happening a little bit." Variations of that are "I'm not doing it", "why do you care" and deflecting to something else bad but completely unrelated.

@brandonkitchens92 ahhh, that's why the top half of his head isn't connected to the bottom half. Can't believe I didn't connect the dots.

@NannerBrams I am a tough, but fair leader. Do you have any crickets?

@DogmaticNonsense I actually find characters like that personally insulting, because it's like the writer thinks their audience is so stupid they can't tell who the good guys and bad guys are without being beaten over the head with it, like "hey dummy, in case you can't tell, you aren't supposed to like this character. Let me make it as obvious as possible." It's condescending, and it's poor character development. Most real people are more complex than that, it's not as simple as "good guys" and "bad guys", and you can't always immediately tell when someone has bad intentions. They don't usually get that far with their bad intentions unless they can package it as good intentions. The fact that people like Lance exist, and people actually take him seriously as a political commentator is pretty damn depressing.

@jyllianrainbow7371 I've met people who are sort of halfway like that, but it's typically people who don't really pay attention to politics but have heard some "revolutionaries" talk about it, they have a surface level view like the working class deserves it because of some make believe grievance, and they should get free shit just because they exist. But that's their understanding of socialism, they think it's just everything being free because someone else pays for it.

@ninjagold9244 Seder is one of the most reprehensible figures in the political sphere, the only thing about him that isn't a 10/10 on the reprehensible scale is the fact that nobody really gives a shit about him, he has a pretty small reach compared to some other lefties. He's so obviously disingenuous, he doesn't even pretend to believe his own shit. He has the same tone as one of those daytime gossip junk shows single cat ladies like to watch, he knows it's all bullshit but he's just throwing red meat to his idiot audience. Lance might actually be so stupid he believes his own shit. It's hard to tell with him.
