I've always found it funny when people rip on love stories in movies or other media for being too cliche, or unrealistic, do they expect the stories to be right on the nose of their own personal experience? Most of them are meant to be cliche, so most people can relate to it at least a little bit, rather than some people relating very deeply to it.

@teamtx1578 exactly, the advice I've always given the hopeless types that wonder why they haven't found someone, male or female, is to stop thinking about who you want, and start thinking about what kind of person would want you. And if you don't like the answer, then you need to change something about yourself.

The storybook fantasy of a perfect relationship doesn't exist, because people aren't perfect. But true love is real, it's just not always sunshine and butterflies every day.

My main issue with modern romance crap is they tend to get really lazy with the "problem period", it's usually something the guy lied about that's really no big deal, that he should have just been honest about in the beginning of the relationship, and even if he wasn't, it wasn't that big of a deal anyway. It's like they just have to shove that part in and they can't think of a good and realistic way of writing it in.

Women are the gatekeepers of sex, men are the gatekeepers of relationships. This is natural law, no amount of new aged philosophy will ever change that. When women give it up to anyone who shows them attention for more than 8 seconds, they shouldn't be surprised when they can't find a stable relationship.
