  1. “Trying to act normal” I did this for 39 years and I didn’t understand what was going on as I felt I had to “pretend” I was a normal person that liked going out and socializing. 90% of conversations just do not interest me - I passed this off as me just being very introverted but I knew that really didn’t fit completely. Then I learned about Asperger’s/autism .. it’s a huge shock - all of my relationships were formed around me “masking”..

  2.  @pjewellful2012  agree, autism is a major disability. I’m Sure mild cases aren’t that bad but beyond that it can be crippling
