Sorry, I'm not westerner, Russian, or Ukrainian, and I think it's completely unfair to place all the blame on just one side of the conflict and totally demonize the Russian Federation NATO (a military organization) and Ukraine were discussing the possibility of Ukraine joining the military pact. It would add several more miles of border between NATO and Russia, and it would allow the deployment of short-distance missiles and a nuclear arsenal in a location much closer to Russian territory than it is now. So, clearly, we can see a threat to Russia's sovereignty and safety The truth is that the West wants to create a "new Afghanistan" that could destabilize Russia like the real Afghanistan did to the Soviet Union, and because of that, they want to prolong the war as much as possible regardless of Ukrainian lives, global economic stability, and nuclear war danger. It explains why the Western powers reject and criticize any attempt to build peace in the region coming from countries like China and Brazil Ukraine and Zelensky are just puppets for the USA and its allies, and Western populations are as indoctrinated as or more so than Russian people.
