Until EVs match Mazda 3's or Toyota Corolla's range and low entry cost, EVs are for the rich or it's a compromised vehicle. Australia used to have a lower emission vehicle manufacturer i.e. Toyota Camry hybrid and it was killed by Labor appointed judge. Toyota Camry hybrid is one step from pure EV.

@DanielSMatthews The major pushers for CO2 reduction come from fossil energy-poor European countries i.e. the concept of shared solidarity and shared misery aka classic socialism. Fossil energy exporters Australia, Canada, Russia, Brazil, and fossil energy importers Japan, China, South Korea, and India are not climate change extremists.
