  1. Saturn V's prime contractor is Boeing. Saturn V's 1st stage is made by Boeing. Saturn V's 2nd stage is made by North American Aviation which is owned by Boeing. Saturn V's 3rd stage was made by Douglas which merged with McDonnell Aircraft forming McDonnell Douglas which merged with Boeing in 1997. Space Shuttle Orbiter's prime contractor was Boeing when it purchased Rockwell's North American Aviation, the Defense Electronics Division, and Rocketdyne in 1996. Boeing sold its Rocketdyne Propulsion & Power business to Pratt & Whitney in 2005.
