@gulaggreens296 Reminder, Russia already risked world peace by stationing their warships just outside non-NATO member Australia's EEZ during the 2014 G20 meeting. Unlike the Black Sea with NATO defense treaty allies, Russia has no defense treaty allies around Australia. In 2022, Russia did a similar activity near non-NATO member Ireland's waters. Russia was meddling in Australia's Antarctica interest that caused Australia to enlist EU support. Russia was meddling in New Zealand's Antarctica interest that caused New Zealand to enlist US support.

March 1, 2014, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation unanimously adopted a resolution to petition Russian President Vladimir Putin to use military force in Ukraine. Ukrainian People's Republic is the modern-day Ukraine. These are "old world" issues that existed before the US being a superpower. The partial breakup of the Soviet Union has shown that the Russian Empire is a fake country just like any other European colonial empire.

British Empire attempted to keep its empire with the US war of independence just like Putin attempting to restore the Russian Empire.
