Australia's GG system removes the supply bills deadlock during the Gough Whitlam Labor era.

The last referendum has monarchists winning the vote. Australia's GG has the power to reject the bills from the government, but the current GG doesn't have people's mandate to reject them. Giving GG mandate similar to US presidential mandate will lead to political deadlock. Australia is one system away from a US-style presidential GG mandate.

@CN-wt2bj US-style system has flaws such as supply bills dead locks.

@notgivingmyname8840 Whitlam can't pass the supply bills while the US version has a dead lock.

From theage.com.au/national/labor-defends-hq-lease-20041116-gdz03x.html Labor party leases their building in a 15-year contract to the federal Labor government! Sucking blood from the taxpayers’ pocket is not limited to one side.

@CN-wt2bj US-style system has the worst blame game between the United States House of Representatives (supply bill originator) vs the United States president i.e. there's a conflicting mandate.

Jim R If President or GG cant' dismiss the supply bill blocked government, the result would be a U.S.-style government shutdown. A non-functional government should be fired and new elections should be called. A government that can't pass the supply bills is not a government!

@CN-wt2bj Australia's blame game is between the states and the federal governments. Australia's federal government doesn't have a U.S. blame game between the federal House of Representatives vs office of the President. The US still has a blame game between federal vs state vs city governments. Australia's local council governments are weaker than U.S. local council governments. Australia's GG was able to fire a non-functional government that can't pass the supply bills after multiple attempts. A government that can't pass the supply bills is not a government!

Jim R Australia has https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Cabinet_(Australia) which enabled superior COVID-19 handling when compared to U.S's dysfunctional federal, state, and local council governments. Australia should continue to innovate on its own instead of copying the dysfunctional US government structures.
