Australia doesn't have the population and economic scale to support this complex R&D effort. Australia"s Aukus class nuclear powered missile guided attack submarine will be built in Australia.

@user-kh1fn8qe8k Only three of the eight nuclear powered submarine will come from the US and rest are built in Australia. UK designed Aukus class is a response for US Virginia class Block 5 which includes 40 vertical launch tubes. Aukus class has a strike power comparable to Australia's Hobart class in full land-sea strike config mode i.e entire 48 vertical tubes with strike missiles config mode.
