Advance Super Hornet has the option to reach US export near-stealth restriction. F-4, F-8 and F-106 are mothballed and covered in white vinyl plastic compound. F-16A, F-4 and F-106 are used for target drones and unmanned fighter R&D. In terms of mass production, F-16 and F-35 single-engine design is designed for a "total war" situation just like WW2 There's an upgrade path for F-16A to evolved into F-16V Block 70/72. US is ready for a total war against Russia and China.

  4.  @ugaboj  Actually, the world's second-largest airforce is US MIL's boneyard with older F-15A and F-16A units covered in white plastic vinyl. USN has its boneyard with older F-18A models. F-35A is the process of sending F-16C into the boneyard.
