Remove F-35C's rear ailevators, F-35C's large wings that extend near the engine nozzle is effectively diamond delta-wing aircraft. F-35C's rear ailevators extending beyond the engine nozzle mostly duplicates thrust vector functions.

The official NGAD fighter concept design doesn't use F-16XL's crank-delta wing design. NGAD fighter uses an enlarged swept trapezoidal diamond wing design. F-22A, F-35A and F-35C uses the swept trapezoidal diamond wing design. NGAD fighter has geometry optimizations towards longer wavelength radar.

A statement from the real F-16 designer on a larger wing area F-16 Designer Harry Hillaker Harry Hillaker's statement on low wing loading and wing size... _For example, the drag coefficient of an F-16 is about the same as that of an F-4. However, the F-16 has about one-third the drag of an F-4 in level flight. At angle of attack, it is about one-fifteenth We knew that we wanted low wing loading and high thrust loading. But we also knew that low wing loading means more weight and more drag Critics like Pierre Sprey's argument on low wing loading are insufficient. Larger wings introduce higher drag which degrades acceleration performance. For vortex lift generation, F-16 was designed with low drag at an angle of attack, hence smaller wings.

@jaredyoung5353 F-16XL can't support F-35/NGAD's larger diameter engines, hence a clean-sheet design.

@SVSky USAF has released some NGAD pictures and it's optimized against long wave length radar.
