Budapest Memorandum's security assurances are weaker than NATO's Article V and EU's Article 42.7. China-backed Russia's POV. Germany hasn't signed the Budapest Memorandum. DW should learn history when UK's entry into WW1 was via a defense treaty with Belgium that was invoked when Germany invaded Belgium.
