Thomas Homer-Dixon, (founding director of the Cascade Institute at Royal Roads University in British Columbia) is a leftist. Any US authoritarian potential has US characteristics via powerful corporations. For the US, the corporation path is the backdoor to authoritarian control e.g. freedom of speech being gimped by pro-Democrat social media companies. Some Thomson-Reuters' board members are shared with Pfizer's. It's a good thing the US is not a member of CPTPP to keep the US's big pharma companies out.
