Sean Watts The real Arrow didn't fly beyond mach 2.0 i.e. mach 1.98.

***** http://theaviationist.com/2016/03/01/heres-what-ive-learned-so-far-dogfighting-in-the-f-35-a-jsf-pilot-first-hand-account/ Norwegian F-35A pilot counters David Axe's F-16D Block 40 vs F-35A AF-02 blog. It's too bad the Norwegians are not flying year 2008 F=35A AF-02 (2nd non-production unit). F-35B Block 2B IOC already has good results from GreenFlag exercise. http://aviationweek.com/defense/f-35-unscathed-hostile-fire-green-flag David Ave's F-16D Block 40 vs F-35A AF-02 AoA test was done on January 2015.

Why would Australia buy the Arrow, when Advance F-15 would do the job of the fictional Arrow? The problem with Canada is that they just talk, talk, talk, while Australia has purchased Super Hornet F-18 F/F+, F-35A and two LHD flat top carriers and looking at buying F-35B. Wing loadings via empty weight. F-35A Empty weight: 29,030 lb (Year 2013 build). Wing area: 460 ft² Wing loading: 63.11 lbs/ sq feet. <------ F-16C Block 52 Wing area: 300 ft² Empty weight: 18,900 lb Wing loading: 63 lbs/ sq feet. <------ F-35A's main target goal is to replace F-16.

ABCantonese From http://www.airforce.gov.au/Technology/Future-Acquisitions/F-35A-Lightning-II/?RAAF-ZRnYQhJUh1u0e44uR32olOT1rt+Ym4K3 "The first F-35 aircraft will arrive in Australia in 2018 and the first squadron, Number 3 Squadron, will be operational in 2021. All 72 aircraft are expected to be fully operational by 2023" "The total capital cost of $12.4 billion for this acquisition includes the cost of associated facilities, weapons and training." "Around $1.6 billion in new facilities and infrastructure will be constructed, including at RAAF Base Williamtown in New South Wales and RAAF Base Tindal in the Northern Territory." ---- Australia is upgrading it's air bases together with F-35s. Some JSF countries wouldn't be bothered with airbase upgrades. Minus the airbase upgrades, its $150 million AUD or $131 million USD for each F-35A which includes the cost of weapons and training. Australian Dollar is slightly weaker than US Dollar. Minus $1.6 billion AUD base upgrades , $150 million AUD = $114 million USD per unit (18/03/2015)

ABCantonese JSF partners are sold at Block 3F aircraft specs not on earlier Block builds. If Block 3F doesn't deliver then it's plan B. From http://breakingdefense.com/2014/06/gen-mike-hostage-on-the-f-35-no-growlers-needed-when-war-starts/3/ General Mike Hostage On The F-35 vs F-16 The F-35, he says, has “at least” the maneuverability and thrust and weight of the F-16. The F-35 is to the F-22 as the F-16 is to the F-15. This is USAF's expectation for F-35A at Block 3F. Fail this requirement, it's another F-16 79 sales failure.

***** http://www.newindianexpress.com/nation/Rafale-Slipstream-India-not-to-Budge-on-Lowering-Jets-Price/2016/02/22/article3289833.ece 8 Billion euros for 36 Rafale units. That's about $8.8 billion USD as of Feb 26, 2016. $245 million USD per Rafale unit with related spares and related items. The price tag is set by "what the market can bare".

MingGuoLi http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/defense/2013-04-26/uae-orders-more-f-16e/f-fighters UAE paid $4- to $5 billion USF for their 25 unit F-16E/F Block 60. That's $160-to-$200 million USD per unit which includes new weapons i.e. fighter aircrafts are useless without related weapons. This price includes additional R&D for "Block 60" upgrades. F-16E/F Block 60/61 doesn't have USAF's economic of scale compared to USAF's F-16C/D Block 50/52+. From http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/the-uaes-f-16-block-60-desert-falcon-fleet-04538/ 30 F-16E/F Block 61 cost UAE $2 billion USD i.e. $66 million USD per unit. The initial "Block 60" cost paid for R&D for the new baseline "Block 60" config.

***** WRONG. France's price for Rafale is not applicable for India. Again, You haven't supplied any source for your 68 millions € FOR India http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/france-offers-25-discount-to-india-on-purchase-of-36-rafale-jets/articleshow/47168431.cms To quote The overall cost is not expected to cross $8 billion for the entire 36-aircraft fleet, French sources said. That's $222 million USD per Rafale unit. To quote again from the same article. Dassault signed a deal with Qatar on Monday to sell 24 Rafale fighters for $7 billion, which would put the per-aircraft cost at just over $290 million. India is set to get a better deal because of the larger number being ordered These are export prices for export customers. http://time.com/3710118/egypt-rafale-fighter-jet-france/ Egypt will buy 24 aircraft as part of a deal reportedly valued at 5.2 billion euros ($5.9 billion), That's $245 million USD per Rafale unit. For export customers, I used Australia's price for F-35A example. I used Qatar and India's price for Rafale's examples. From 3 export customers, they paid between $222 million to $290 million USD. Try again.

***** You haven't provided any export price source for your Rafale argument. The main cost complaints with F-35 is relative to F-16C/D Block 52+ and F-18E/F Block 2 NOT with non-U.S. fighter aircrafts. Using Australia's 24 unit F-18F/F+ Block 2 purchase as an example From http://www.smh.com.au/national/defence-set-to-buy-super-hornets-over-cuttingedge-fighter-20130127-2df02.html Australia paid $2 billion AUD for 24 units, that's $83 million AUD for each F-18F BK2 unit.

***** For Rafale's export cost, you haven't supplied any source information. You are wasting everybody's time.

***** Any modern fighter CAN carry most missile types, but who is paying for the integration? That's an extra cost for the export customer. Furthermore, Rafale is limited to single data link to it's data linked enabled missiles. Then there's restricted information access for the French side with certain non-French weapons systems e.g. a problem with French DCNS with U.S. combat systems for Australia's new submarine plans. Other solution such as EF, Gripen and F35 are out-of-the-box supports US and EU (minus French missiles e.g. MICA) sourced missiles. Your statement for Russian missile support for Rafale is a red herring for Canada. Another problem for Rafale is the industrial offsets i.e. F-16 has beaten the competition with industrial offsets. Industrial offsets are scaled to it's largest customer. The recent F-16V build already has a new customer i.e. Taiwan. For cheap 4.5 gen solution is to upgrade F-16C/D Block 25 to Block 52+ then F-16V configuration. France can't beat U.S. market dumping/flooding F-16C/D Block 25s. http://breakingdefense.com/documents/services-set-ioc-dates-for-f-35s-confidence-is-the-watchword/ The Air Force F-35A will reach the IOC milestone by December 2016. Note that these current fighter solutions are will be rendered obsolete with USAF's 6th gen laser optimised fighter aircraft i.e. aircraft designed around a gun i.e. laser. I repeat, F-35 was designed to replace F-16 NOT F-15. http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/air-space/2016/01/11/lockheed-begins-assembly-first-israeli-f-35/78636818/ Israel's F-35I is being assembled as of Q1 2016. http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/air-space/2016/03/01/norwegian-f-35-pilot-counters-controversial-dogfighting-report/81170580/ Norwegian F-35 Pilot Counters Controversial ‘Dogfighting’ Report (David Axe's Q1 2015 report). The air-break(e.g. cobra maneuver type)+superior nose pointing+missile launch tactics mirrors Russian Flanker or USN Super Hornet's dogfight tactics. Norwegian F-35 pilot doesn't fly with USAF's F-35A AF-02 (year 2008) build aircraft i.e. hint: 3rd Gen helmet is a dead give away.

ABCantonese USAF plans to have F-35A Block 2B IOC by December 2016.

***** That article is speculative and doesn't match Norwegian pilot's experience between later build F-35 vs their F-16A MLU. Norway's F-16 upgrades went as far M6.5 tape. Read http://www.f-16.net/f-16_versions_article2.html Israel is still integrating their electronics gear into F-35I while F-15 is mature with a known Israeli configuration. F-35I was designed to replace current service F-16I NOT F-15I. Boeing has F-15 2040C offer to upgrade or replace USAF F-15C. From http://www.hngn.com/articles/160886/20151216/northrop-grumman-unveils-sixth-generation-stealth-fighter-laser-weapon.htm 6th generation fighter concept is designed around a gun i.e. laser weapon and still has stealth. From http://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/us-air- force-arm-jets-superpowered-shield-lasers-15367 Lockheed Martin has laser SHIELD pod demonstrator and can shoot down incoming A2A missiles. Shooting down planes with a laser would need a new aircraft design that can handle high power laser. U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Funds Lockheed, Northrop For Work On Anti-SAM Laser Pod http://aviationweek.com/awin/darpa-funds-lockheed-northrop-work-anti-sam-laser-pod Lockheed Martin's laser turret weapons test http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3280020/Lockheed-Martin-reveals-secretly-testing-supersonic-laser-turret-fighter-jets.html

***** You haven't supplied any information source that shows Rafale's export price tag is cheaper than F-35.

***** YOU stop telling lies. You have NOT posted any information source that shows the EXPORT cost for Rafale. http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/2015/10/24/sweden-brazil-pursue-deeper-cooperation-47b-gripen-ng-deal/74415116/ Gripen NG export cost for Brazil is $4.7 billion USD for 36 aircraft units i.e. that's $130 million USD each. F-35's cost issues are against it's replacement i.e. F-16A/B/C/D or F-18A/B/C/D NOT Rafale you stupid clown. These Middle East countries are willing to pay for >$200 million USD per Rafale unit. From http://www.defenseworld.net/news/15513/India_Will_Have_To_Bear_Cost_Of_Rafale_Weapons_In_Addition_To_Aircraft_Price#.VtqYAY9OLqY India Will Have To Bear Cost Of Rafale Weapons In Addition To Aircraft Price Article date: 22nd February 2016 http://www.newindianexpress.com/nation/Rafale-Slipstream-India-not-to-Budge-on-Lowering-Jets-Price/2016/02/22/article3289833.ece 8 billion Euros for 36 Rafale units.
