  1. Tesla Model S's EV battery is mostly nickel and graphite(refined coal) materials with tiny 2 percent lithium. Nickel metal is already used with steel production. Battery chemistry differs across manufacturers i.e. it's a flawed argument to use a simple battery size scaling to compute CO2 emissions where lithium content percentage per cell may differ.
