Erm, Akinci is Turkish... LOL Turkish argument: What happened to the Red Indians of America? The U.S kicked out European colonial governments i.e. Spain, France, UK, Russia. Unlike Turkey and Islamic Ottoman Empire, the U.S remove the godhead religion issues from the government since its founding. Turkish argument: What happened to the natives of Oceania? From abc.net.au/news/2018-04-24/ancient-virus-cousin-of-hiv-affecting-indigenous-australians/9688718 Ancient virus lurking in remote Australia affects thousands of Aboriginal adults. This ancient virus is related to HIV( i.e. HTLV-1) and reduces an adult's life span. Aborigines have extra welfare payments e.g. Abstudy. The initial White British population is the rejected poor e.g. sent to Australia (known as New Holland) from stealing a loaf of bread. The UK avoided the French-style revolution by throwing the poor to Australia. Australia's poor worked hard from near ground zero and adopted maritime trading culture like the British to build a country to reach the 12th largest GDP (nominal) 2021 estimate. Both Australia and Papua New Guinea started from the same poor state.

The main cause for western European colonial powers (e.g. Spain's Christopher Columbus, 1492) heading towards the west is to find new maritime routes with East Asia that avoids the Islamic Ottoman Empire. Spain kicks out the Islamic Umayyad caliphate starting from 722 to 1492. Spain's fight against Umayyad caliphate resulted in the creation of a powerful Spainish army and navy. As the rise of the powerful Spanish navy, the rise of the US Navy (i.e. Department of the Navy), and infamous freedom of navigation foreign policy was due to its fight against Islamic Ottoman Empire's North African states in the 1801 Barbary Wars. Ottoman Empire's North African states committed piracy against the US martime trade which resulted in the 1801 Barbary Wars. The U.S win against Ottoman Empire's North African states in the second Barbary Wars 1815 opened up North Africa to other European powers i.e. Scramble for Africa starting around 1840.

@Twentycent911 The Barbary slave trade refers to slave markets on the Barbary Coast of North Africa, which included the Ottoman provinces of Algeria, Tunisia and Tripolitania and the independent sultanate of Morocco, between the 16th and middle of the 18th century. European slaves were acquired by Barbary pirates in slave raids on ships and by raids on coastal towns from Italy to the Netherlands, Ireland and the southwest of Britain, as far north as Iceland and into the eastern Mediterranean. The Ottoman eastern Mediterranean was the scene of intense piracy. As late as the 18th century, piracy continued to be a "consistent threat to maritime traffic in the Aegean". The Barbary slave trade declined after Sweden and the United States defeated the Ottoman Empire's Barbary states in the 1st Barbary Wars (1800-1815) and Second Barbary War (1815). Scramble for Africa occurred in 1884. Europe's religious impact on the upper half of Africa is minor when compared to Islamic caliphates which displaced Roman Empire's north Africa. French rule in the Algeria region began in 1830 which is after the Second Barbary War (1815). Ottoman Empire captured Algiers in 1516.
