Yes but none of the religious people corrected him on that. And as the narrator points out here, much of Christian tradition was an offshoot of Roman tradition if not Mithraic.

@mephi654 But it is very clear that pagan influences were very strong in Christianity. Otherwise the Abrahamic God is dead set against idolatry and polytheism. Yet we see graven images everywhere, of Jesus, of multiple saints, and even of Mary, and arguments about the deity-status of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Even Mary is turned into a deity in the Carholic tradition and amulets and charms are common. The link to judaism is considerably more tenous and it is reasonably clear that the basic story of Jesus is that of a rebel against Judaism, someone who is preaching a breakaway from the fundamental tenets

Not to mention probably a kind of lobbying group which tried to exert influence on all walks of society like the Stonecutters in the Simpsons. I don't think they really cared about any God. And the conflicts between the Christians and the Mithra cult were probably more politically motivated than religiously. Two groups jostling for dominance in the bureaucratic hierarchies until Christianity won out
