@notastone4832 and they’re not reasonable demands. He wants nato to retreat to Soviet era borders. Meaning many former Soviet states which are now nato members will be left entirely undefended and vulnerable. Meaning they are there for Russia to invade if it chooses, and nato would take weeks to mobilise and respond to one of its members being attacked. Additionally asking a country to demilitarise because you’re claiming that their goverment, of which the president is a Jewish, holocausts descendant, needs to “de-nazify” isn’t what I’d call reasonable. That would be like calling Lennon a capitalist.

@notastone4832 what is also unreasonable is that Russia signed an agreement with ukraine, declaring that if ukraine surrenders its nuclear arsenal to Russia, Russia cannot threaten or invade Ukraine, and then proceeds to invade Ukraine less than 30 years later.

@juliec5309 I never said they weren’t. I said under the conditions Russia wanted, they have to take the military border back to Soviet area borders which would leave around 10 nato countries defenceless against Russia and would mean if Russia wanted to invade it would take weeks to mobilise the nato military to reach the member country under attack with sufficient force to push back the Russians by which time they might have fully invaded and be dug in waiting for the counter attack. That was never a reasonable condition for Russia to demand.

@jeffreybresnahan there aren’t dozens of Nazi battalion’s. There was the one independent volunteer battalion called the azov battalion. They formed themselves during the civil war and consequent fighting. Then they disbanded and members volunteered to join the national guard. Which they did. As one might expect, political and ideological affiliations aren’t a tick box one must declare for joining the military. Ukraine would far from the only country in the world that has extremists in their ranks. That doesn’t make them a nazi run state. Even as recent as a month ago, new laws laws were implemented to criminalise antisemitic acts. I don’t care about your background. That has nothing to do with the conversation. But again, to suggest that Zelensky or his government are Nazi extremist requires a large degree of self delusion.

But neither Belarus or Russia can provide any proof for such claims and no other countries on earth give any weight to any of those claims. Instead waited 5 minutes into the agreed 5 hour window before bombing and shelling the evacuation buses, schools, kindergarten, hospitals and residential buildings. Whilst cutting the population off from fresh water, power, heating, medical supplies and even food. You really going to sit there with a straight face and tell me he’s some “Christian saviour”? But is reported unanimously by hundreds of journalists from dozens of countries on the ground witnessing it, by UNICEF, by Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, ICC, and most importantly, it being captured on video by hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians on social media. You, believe just one person, who has banned his country from receiving outside information other than what he spoon feeds them and jails people who say otherwise for up to 15 years and is one of the worlds last dictators. And whome the rest of the world adamantly disagrees with and says is lying. In that context, which do you think is most likely to be truthful? And how stupid do you feel?

@jeffreybresnahan better yet let’s put it this way. Let’s say you’re a teacher of a class of 193 students and you walk in to find your desk vandalised. You ask all the students who did it. The Russian kid said it was the Ukrainian kid, 4 of Russia’s friends say it wasn’t Russia but won’t say who it was. 35 students refuse say anything, and 141 of your remaining students all adamantly say it was the Russian kid. Who do you punish, the Ukrainian kid or the Russian kid. 141 to the one Russian kid and 5 of his close friends. That’s the position you’re in atm, instead of kids, it’s countries, instead of a classroom it’s the UN, and instead of the desk being vandalised, it’s war crimes.

@jeffreybresnahan how long have you been trying to get Mariupol and odessa? a while huh? also, whilst the US was in Iraq and Afghanistan longer, it didnt tell the world it would be over in less than a week. I also feel the need to point at that whilst the US only lost 6,832 over both conflicts combined, over a period of 18 years. The russians have lost, according to their own publication which they promptly removed, 10,000 KIA in less than a month and 16,000 wounded. Meanwhile, how goes capturing Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv or holding kherson? No so well huh? last I heard russians lost major territory in all those regions being pushed back by ukrainian forces. Which would mean you're getting pushed further away from odessa. not getting closer. Also Last I heard you're slowly being pushed out of Kherson, the only city the russians have actually managed to capture. all whilst the population is showing up in the thousands to protest the russians there, far from being "liberated" they are protesting the russians, even persisting after being shot at by russians for protesting. Of which there is video of. so dont go denying that.

@jeffreybresnahan I havn't seen any information suggesting Mariupol has fallen, aside from russian media which claimed its fallen 3 times already. Just like its claimed that Azov steel mill was captured on the 10th... before the Chechens said they captured it on the 17th... before the Russians said they bombed it flat with airstrikes on the 19th... before announcing on the 20th that they're going to go ahead and storm the steel mill ultimately before announcing on the 21st that the Azov battalion are hold up in the steel mill. Just.... soooooooooo reliable that russian media.... Good to know that if you have nothing to hide there is no reason to lie right?.... right?... Steel mill isnt the only example. They've also claimed that some towns in the donbass have been "liberated" as many of 7 times in the last month. Except those some of those towns are in sepratist controlled area's and even before the war the ukraine military did not control nor were operating in those areas...... so good to know they liberated the towns from themselves to themselves several times..... Good to know you get your information from such reliable sources and that you have enough braincells to rub together to tell what is actual information and what is propaganda. @jeffreybresnahan and dont get me wrong. Mariupol will fall eventually. its been entirely cut off and surrounded for almost 2 months now. So when it does fall. It would have taken the russian military 2 months to capture just one city it surrounded. only 7 more to go, that arent at all surrounded yet. sure that will go just great for the Russians. All heil war criminals or what ever it is you say.

Hard to say they’ve been “free’d” also hard to say they’re freeing populations when Russia admits to taking id and passports from Ukrainians and pushing them into “filtration” camps before forcefully deporting them deep into Russia. That meets the UN definition of ethnic clensing. It also in freeing or liberating when you mass murder the entire city. It’s hard to be free and liberated when you’re dead. And yet you still support it. How fucked in the head do you have to be?

@jeffreybresnahan additional far from gaining ground to Odessa, Russians has been being pushed back from Mykolayiv by the Ukrainians. Something like 30 - 50 miles last week. Ukraine also killed a Russian general because he was using unsecured phone comms and announced who he was, the Ukrainians then tracked the phone and bombed it. Woops. Then one of their most important ports in the area was filmed by Russia propaganda crews In a live news broadcast announcing the arrival of 3 alligator landing ships to the port. Supposedly a big deal for the Russians who are very proud of those ships. Unfortunately that broadcast announced the live location of those ships. Which the Ukrainians used to fire accurate anti ship munitions at it. They sunk the orsk and severely damaged two other landing ships and destroyed and ammunitions dump which was strangely and rather incompetently stored next to a 3,000 ton fuel tank. The whole thing went up. Now that port is unusable for the foreseeable future. Well done Russia. It’s also worth noting that Russian soldiers then went to the nearby college where they interrogated and beat students to get them to reveal who the “spotter” was for the attack, seemingly incompetently oblivious to the Russia media crew who filmed the whole Russian layout of the dock. Another oppsie. But sure, apart from losing ground, making concentration camps and having a complete lack of operational security leading to sunken ships and dead generals, I’m sure they’ll be able to push to Odessa and free the entire city by killing everyone in it. Because that’s what the good guys do. Kill everyone for no reason. Congratulations. This town is free… of life. Im sure everyone is wants to be liberated of their heat beats. Why don’t you put your hand up next. Ask the Russians to liberate your house and family with a howitzer. You seem so keen on the idea
