  1. I went to a reknown, prestigious public high school (public schools are generally considered to be better and more selective, where I live, together with a small number of élite private schools), but I could wear pretty much whatever I wanted, in terms of style: we had students with green or purple hair, studded trench coats, shredded jeans etc, and they mostly came from rich and highly-educated families. At school, nobody cared about individual fashion choices, unless you went in wearing svasticas or a swimsuit. Personal creativity and interests were highly valued,. Among the student population, there were several genius students bound to be admitted to the most prestigious universities, and it made sense for our school to let them express their potential without unnecessary restrictions, so that they could grow as individuals and get engaged in a broad range of curricular and extra-curricular activities. During high school I wrote books, sang in a band, cultivated a lot of interests and hobbies, and always got top marks BECAUSE I was busy doing that and felt fulfilled and engaged, not the other way around: I wasn't "losing time" that I should have dedicated to studying more, I was growing as a person and learning a lot of things. Same at the university, where I studied International Economics. I 've worked in many different sectors in my life in different parts of the world, and I'm currently an Event Manager, an AD on movie sets, and a published author, thanks to having grown up in an inspiring, intellectually challenging environment.
